Publisher's summary

About $2 trillion is invested in the hedge-fund industry, and yet, due to industry regulations, the general public knows little about them. This book will change that.

Timothy Sykes turned $12,000 of Bar Mitzvah gift money into $1.65 million by trading thousands of stocks from 1999 to 2002. He managed the number-one Short Bias Hedge Fund from 2003 to 2006, starred in the television documentary Wall Street Warriors, and appeared regularly on CNBC - all before the age of 26. It's been a wild ride.

This Rocky-like story is the first realistic look at the world of stock trading and hedge funds. It will educate and inspire everyone.

Critic reviews

"This is the first book I'd give to somebody if I were trying to interest them in the stock market." (Greg Feirman, Founder and CEO, Top Gun Financial Planning)
"There's certainly a dash of Holden Caulfield to Sykes, but there's at least an equal part Larry Livingston, the trader in Edwin LeFevre's classic Reminiscences of a Stock Operator." ( Dow Jones Newswire)

The complexity of the trading world!

This book really painted a complete picture of the ins and outs of playing the stock market! It's not easy nor for the faint of heart! I believe Tim exposed the good, bad, and ugly of the process!

Great story

This will be one I go through again. Got it on audible. Very well told story I enjoyed it immensely. Not a guide book to be a millionaire so if that’s what you’re looking for you’re on the wrong path. However listening to another’s way of thinking outside the box can always help grow your own ability to do the same. Live in the grey area, that’s where most of life is. I love the insight into what the rich are allowed to do that us mere peasants are not. I thoroughly believe Hedge Funds should be open to the public and I wouldn’t understand anything about them without this book.

Inquiring novice investors want to know

What I disliked was the slow start. When you’re starting out, having no clue about the terminology and etc., just thirsty forInvestor do’s and don’ts. A persons 6 hr life story is not exactly appealing. However, the progression of events that led up to the purpose for which the book was written, made a world of difference. For staunch bookworms with an interest in finance, preferably hedge fund management, I would indeed recommend this book.

Valuable info. on a hidden world

Sykes’ journey is unique. His depiction of his journey is quick paced yet detailed in a mix that emotionally hooks the reader while educating him on various aspects of trading and the hedge fund business.
