Herriot continues the rich and rewarding day-to-day life of a small-town veterinarian, and we journey with him across the dales, meeting a whole new cast of unforgettable characters - humans, dogs, horses, lambs, parakeets - all of them drawn with the same infinite fascination, affection and insight that made James Herriot one of the most beloved authors of our time. And all the stories are warmly, evocatively told by the world-renowned "voice" of Dr. Herriot: Christopher Timothy.

The James Herriott stories are all great favorites of mine on audiobook. They're extremely well read in this edition, and they are engaging enough for either long or short jaunts in the car. I really enjoy them and will be sad when I finish the series.
I'm so glad they are continuing this series with Christopher Timothy. He has become the voice of James Herriot in my mind. This edition is a bit scratchy. Sometimes you can even hear other people and noises in the background. I wish they'd clean up the quality. Otherwise, it's excellent.
James Herriot brings forth the beauty of the countryside in the early 1940s. The only thing that bothered me is sometimes the audio gets muddy. Not the fault of the narrator just some issue with the audio recording or something.
Loved hearing this as much as I loved reading it way back when in the 70s. Takes one back in time to a more spimple era just as the modern day changes are just beginning. Gives me great peace and the joy of being alive.
