Heart warming and uplifting
This my first time listening to the audio version and second time reading the books. Loved the stories. Herriot places you into his life as a country vet in the comforts of your home. The people and patients touches your soul and make you feel like you know them. Thank you and looking forward to listening to the next book.

Superb; engaging; get the entire series!
Superb storytelling; engaging; gently humorous. The author is not afraid to poke fun at himself and he’s very gentle when he’s poking fun at somebody else. I am always sad when I come to the end of the book, so I am getting the entire series.

Wonderful!
I wish I had known to watch the original tv show. I had no idea how lovely these stories are. They are read so beautifully by Mr Timothy as Dr Herriot that I always have a picture of him, the amazing scenery and his love of the animals in the stories as I listen. Can’t wait to start the next book - I listen mostly before going to sleep and they are so soothing during these unsettling times. Thank you Mr Timothy and Dr Herriot.

Another wonderful book by Herriot!
I’ll listen to this over and over. It is a beautiful collection of stories that remind of of the simple joys in life and perhaps encourages us to adopt an unhurried, deliberate appreciation for the people, animals, and landscape around us.
