A Zoo in My Luggage | [Gerald Durrell]

A Zoo in My Luggage

The true and hilarious story of how Gerald Durrell and his wife set up their own zoo in Jersey. Journeying to the Cameroons in West Africa, Gerald and his wife, helped by the renowned Fon of Bafut, managed to collect many animals, or 'plenty beef'. Their difficulties began, however, when they found themselves back at home with Cholmondely the chimpanzee, Bug-eye the bush-baby, and other founder-members of the zoo - and nowhere to put them!

    "Hard to Listen To!"

I would NOT recommend wasting an Audible credit or money downloading this book! The story itself is quite boring, but the WORST part is the narration and language used. All the 'native pidgeon English' (the book is set mainly in Africa) is incredibly hard to understand, and becomes tedious to listen to after about 15 minutes. I'll listen through to the end because I don't want to have wasted the download, but it's dull, and irritating. Avoid!
