18 and Life on Skid Row tells the story of a boy who spent his childhood moving from Freeport, Bahamas, to California and finally to Canada and who, at the age of eight, discovered the gift that would change his life.
Throughout his career Sebastian Bach has sold over 20 million records both as the lead singer of Skid Row and as a solo artist. He is particularly known for the hit singles "I Remember You", "Youth Gone Wild", and "18 & Life" and the albums Skid Row and Slave to the Grind, which became the first ever hard rock album to debut at number one on the Billboard Top 200 and landed him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Bach then went on to become the first rock star to grace the Broadway stage, with starring roles in Jekyll & Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also appeared for seven seasons on the hit television show Gilmore Girls.
In his memoir Bach recounts lurid tales of excess and debauchery as he toured the world with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Soundgarden, Pantera, Nine Inch Nails, and Guns N' Roses. 18 and Life on Skid Row is the story of hitting it big at a young age and of a band that broke up in its prime. It is the story of a man who achieved his wildest dreams, only to lose his family and then his home. It is a story of perseverance; of wine, women, and song; and of a man who has made his life on the road and always will. 18 and Life on Skid Row is not your ordinary rock memoir, because Sebastian Bach is not your ordinary rock star.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sebastian narrate his own book. It always makes autobiographies much more interesting when the actual author reads his or her own book. Now I can't wait to buy his book!
this book immediately grabs your attention , the way Sebastian narrates the book kept a smile on my face the entirety of the listen as he seems so happy recounting His Glory Days and even the days he enjoys now. there are many great stories here, some that will make you laugh out loud and some that will make you misty-eyed. Amazing Stories include encounters with Metallica, Pantera, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue and many others. he has indeed had an amazing career. I highly recommend this book I wish I could forget it so I can read it again.
How Sebastian tells his story. I've listened to a lot of bios and this one is one of a kind. You hear everything when he is telling you his story. He laughs, makes comments and sound effects.
Of course Sebastian
The start and middle. I grew up listening to Skid Row and all of the bands that he was talking about. He tells the stories, the real stories.
I just wanted everyone else to hear him. Hear how he tells his story. I'm so happy I didn't read it and I listened to it.
This is a truly one of a kind book. I would recommend it to everyone. It's hard to describe the stories and storytelling but if you listen to this book you won't regret it!
I always thought Sebastian Bach was a snooty jerk of a guy. Once I listen to the book I realized he's a down-to-earth cool guy. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves rock and roll.
This was a real treat coming from a genuine fan. Lots of wild stories, glad I got to hear it, lots of audio only bonuses. Read with great character and energy by Sebastian which is why I wanted the audio not the hardcopy.
My ex brother in law was the original lead guitarist for skid row before Scotty
any my sisters hung out with the band back in the 80's The book is outstanding! I gave gift copies to my sisters for Christmas. SB is a good guy I always knew but now after listening to this book I know he has a good heart
Freehold Condo? Yea I sold my condo in Raintree (Freehold NJ) too and moved to Santa Cruz CA. Rock on SB
Skid Row, Boni Jovi and all the NJ club bands were great and we all had IROCS
Unbelievable Glad I lived it!
Buy this book!!!!
As a teen in the 80s that loved Skid Row, Motley, GnR, etc., this book was a nostalgic journey through a time in rock that will never be repeated. If you loved "Oh Say Can You Scream," you'll get that same kinetic Bach energy in the audio book. A lot of stories I never heard before. SB owns prior behavior in a manner that is probably 40% growth, 60% self serving, but 100% true to form. Consummate rock star, larger than life, unabashed. He admits to outrageous behavior that should make you condemn him, but he has always carried that angelic look and true fan persona that makes you want to forgive him anything. And, you can appreciate his work ethic; he's a grinder and/or a hustler, with more lives than a cat, and an apparent ability to will things into existence. Love that the book is in many ways a plea to reunite the original Skid Row lineup. Would love to see a reunion of what in my opinion was a greatly underrated hard rock band of musicians. Overall, if you're a fan of Bach, Skid Row, or 80s/90s rock, this book should be on your list. Recommend.
What an AWESOME memoir!!! What makes this even better for a real Fan is HE READS THIS and it's freakin hilarious!!! It's like he is just reading the book and giving you tons of bonus content!!! He gives side comments... laughs.. sings.. it's fantastic!!! This is the real guy!! It's personal and funny! A must read for die hard fans!
"brilliant book, loved every minute"
fab book, great insight to his life, his reading brings the whole boom to life
"Recommend to any fan"
I loved this book. It took me right back to my youth and I'm now listening to all those albums again at ear bleeding volume. Bas was a great narrator but I scored 4 out of 5 because he was Soooo enthusiastic it wasn't easy to listen and fall asleep to. LOVED IT.
"Revelation upon Revelation"
This is such an entertaining listen for anyone who has ever heard of Sebastian Bach or Skid Row.
It answers so many questions I had about just where that sound came from? what motivated him/ them to write the songs? The truth behind all of the rumours and lies? Why does Rachel Bolton hate Sebastian so much? Was Jon Bon Jovi really that bad to them? Was Sebastian as big a slut as we all thought he was?
I particularly liked the 'audiobook' extras...great addition.
"A must listen"
Best audio book I have ever listened to! Even if you are not a Sebastian Bach/Skid Row fan this is a really great listen and read by Sebastian makes it really come to life!
"Richy kearns loves this"
As a big skid row and bach fan it was great to hear my idol share his memorys it was great thank you
This really took me back to my youth (gone wild!). Sebastian Bach is funny, honest and engaging. A real talent of the world of heavy metal tells his story, warts and all. Big, brash and wild in his early days, the book charts his career and personal life up to present day where we find a happy and reflective man who while still able to rock appreciates the simpler things as well.
