Publisher's summary

The harrowing, true account from the brave men on the ground who fought back during the Battle of Benghazi.

13 Hours presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale. This is their personal account, never before told, of what happened during the 13 hours of that now-infamous attack.

13 Hours sets the record straight on what happened during a night that has been shrouded in mystery and controversy. Written by New York Times best-selling author Mitchell Zuckoff, this riveting audiobook takes listeners into the action-packed story of heroes who laid their lives on the line for one another, for their countrymen, and for their country.

13 Hours is a stunning, eye-opening, and intense audiobook - but most importantly, it is the truth. The story of what happened to these men - and what they accomplished - is unforgettable.

Unyielding bravery and courage

Those men in Benghazi who stood atop the proverbial wall displayed unyielding bravery and courage by risking their wellbeing and lives to defend spineless bureaucrats and gutless politicians.

Terrific account of what happened in Benghazi

There's a lot of controversy over what 'could have' been done better to prevent this situation. This book thankfully doesn't go into that too much and really focuses on the main events that occurred in a detailed way. It does take a little while to build up but the intensity of the active scenarios are strong and explains the thoughts of the soldiers firsthand well. The main thing I didn't like about this audiobook was the narrators voice. Just didn't find him convincing or fitting for the theme. He did do the action scenes decently, but the rest of the book he just sounded... soft? Anyways, outside of that I enjoyed the book.

Riveting non political

This is an edge of your seat account of the attack on Benghazi. while giving great detail this book also avoids taking a political stand, I believe this ensures that the greatest number of people will read this important story to help avoid this type of tragedy in the future.
