Fae twists and turns

This was enjoyable read but for me it was a pretty predictable type of fae story. Friend gets stolen off to the fairy world, more then likely she either a changeling or half fae. Friend goes to rescue her from the Fae realm, has to make bargains and at times ends up falling in love with the Fae. The narrator of the story was not that interactive and unfortunately for me when I am listening to an audiobook i need to have a narrator that can really play out the characters to keep my attention. The story was good enough that i continued to the end but i admit i sped up the speed just to get to the end as i was guessing what was going to happen pretty much through the whole book. I did not connect enough with the characters to want to read more in this series. Maybe i just read to many fae stories and this one did not stand out very much among the past ones i read.

A Solid Beginning

I took a while to get really invested (Alexis felt very young to me (she's not even 17, so that's understandable, but still)), but once we got to the Dark Court things really felt like they got going, and the story clicked with me, and I invested. I'll be back for the later books.

The narrator is fine, but nothing special.

The kind of world you wish you could fall in to

I’ve listened to this audiobook a couple times now and I gotta say, this story is amazing! I just love the faery realm so much!! Jennifer’s story world is immersive, dark, and superbly written. You feel like you’re right there with Alexis, through the good, the day, and the supernatural.
Needless to say, I though Rachel’s narration was excellent as well. The character voices are incredibly distinct and I felt like Rachel’s narration style worked well for that slightly whiney, sarcastic teenager POV.

Fun story

This story is a fun mystery with a magical twist. I enjoyed the story line and will have the next book on my tbr list. The performance lost stars not to a bad narrator voice but there seemed to be a bad edit of the readings. Background noise, a couple glitches, nothing bad enough to make you stop listening, but it was noticeable.

My first book from Jennifer but it will not be the last. Really enjoyed the book and it had lots of adventures and interesting things in the book. Very good book and beautiful written.

Good audio book

Good audio book I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series. Five star audio and I think the voice is right for it.

Love this saga

I’ve listen to them all now and all I can say is I want more. It’s got you on the edge of your seat most of the time with turns and surprises and things you couldn’t even expect to happen this magical, mystical world is something I want more of.
