Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Timesbestselling Author Barbara Freethy comes a romantic and suspenseful new novel in her popular connected family series, The Callaways.

Nicole met Ryan when he was a handsome, cocky teenager with a desire to fly high above the clouds. Ryan encouraged Nicole to dream big and promised her a lifetime of happiness, but several years into their lives together, they were faced with obstacles bigger than either had ever imagined. Their love faltered. They lost their way and considered what had once been unthinkable-the end of their forever.

But now fate throws them a curve, an event that forces them back together, that strips their emotions bare and is both terrifying and strangely unifying. For the first time in a long while they have to face each other, and not only talk but also listen, because their lives depend on it - not only their lives, but also the life of their six-year-old son.

Secrets and lies frame a perilous journey to the truth that takes Nicole and Ryan to Angel's Bay, a place where miracles sometimes happen. But in order to get that miracle, Nicole and Ryan must work together and learn how to trust and love each other again. Only then will they be able to save their family and find their way to happily ever after.

The Callaway's Book 4 - Mystery is my hobby!

An estranged husband and a challenged little boy, Nicole was at her wits end, her life traumatised by a suddenly missing child. What more could go wrong? The story unfolds as her whole life was unraveling amid the upheaval of moving to another town to work on recovering her baby.
Fear and near tragedy can bring people together or pull them further apart and thankfully, it pushed this embattled couple to join hands and work together in their time of trouble.

I loved this book. Couldn't put it down. It was great to read about Nicole and Ryan's story. I love the whole series and bringing in characters from other books in the series makes it special. Can't wait for to get to Book 5. Bring on more Callaways!

Barbara Freethy is a talented storyteller and this romantic suspense fiction about women's issues as Nicole and Ryan struggle to manage their lives and their heartbreak about their son's challenges and disappearance has been a rewarding listening experience. Their journey was fraught with sorrow but it began an understanding of what was really important to them both.

This latest installment in the Callaway series is suspenseful, full of mystery and heartwarming all at the same time.

The narrator, Shannon McManus was superb in her depiction of the various supporting characters and really added to the listening pleasure.

Interesting suspense, great characters

This book held some anguish for me but the characters were wonderful as always in this series and the suspense was very good. The narration was well done.

Hum?

My leaset favorite book in the series so far. Not a bad story line but just didn't hold my interest and I kept having to go back to it to get through it.
