Publisher's summary

Imagine having to leave the only home you’ve ever known because of rising prejudice against your ethnicity.

Eric Rozenberg grew up in Belgium, surrounded by rising anti-Semitism. In 2013, fearing for the safety of their children, he and his wife, Elsa, chose to leave everything behind and emigrate to the United States. Before It’s Too Late is Eric’s love letter to his daughters. It details European events since the 1980s, the rise of anti-Semitism, the Rozenberg family’s history, and how all of this led them to decide to leave Belgium for the future of their girls.

It is also a love letter to America. Well researched, compelling, intimate, and moving, this legacy book shares why Eric and his family consider their adopted home the greatest country on Earth—and why they are concerned about what they are witnessing in the United States today.

Well written and thought provoking!

As someone who also moved from Europe to the US I can appreciate a lot of what Eric has to say.

I highly recommend this book!

A must read/listen for anyone who cares about the future of humanity

Eric’s story is both extraordinary and prophetic. Despite his encouragement to look forward and speak up, it’s the reflection of looking back that tells a far more alarming story. The forces he encountered during his younger life in Belgium were strong enough to move him and his family halfway across the world to start a new life.

Rozenberg issues a warning to those of us in the U.S. who mostly hear about these forces but don’t actively experience them first-hand. Perhaps what’s most prophetic about his calls to wake up is that this book was written several years ago and does not reflect the current state of the world in November 2023. The tragic irony is that the script continues predictably, unabated,
and perpetually without any sign of letting up.

It’s an important read/listen for anyone who seeks a greater understanding about antisemitism. It is a call to seek clarity about the underlying truths/falsehoods around the clash of civilizations we are experiencing today. And it is a siren to the next generation to think about what standing up for humanity means in this age of social media, rampant propaganda, and polarized politics.

An important book

Having met Eric during our student days, I was intrigued by a statement he made when he moved to the US with his family: "we came to the conclusion that there is no future for Jews in Belgium." Surely he was exaggerating, that cannot be the country where I was born and spent half my life! So I had to listen to this book, and Eric makes an extremely compelling case, one which should scare us all. If there is no future for Jews in Belgium/Europe, is there a future for the rest of us? And could the same happen elsewhere? I can't say I agree with him on everything, but I learned a lot, about Belgium, about Israel and about America. As a left-leaning immigrant myself, Eric challenged my thinking in ways I would not have thought possible.

An important book for anyone that cares about human rights

Eye opening facts and stories about ongoing anti-Semitism and what we can do to raise awareness and encourage the safety of Jews. A must read.

entertaining, educational, prescient

This very well-written book clearly explains the dangers that fundamental islamists pose to western societies through the true account of the author who moved his family from their home in Belgium to the United States. It is a lesson in history and a warning of what could happen to those of us who love our freedom, whether we are Jewish or Christian.
