Mystery, Spies and Underestimated Women

This has become one of my favorite series and I know I'm always in for adventure with Evelyne.

In this latest book, she and her partner David are sent to Portugal to find out where a British Informant has disappeared to.

Evelyne is also on the look out for her Father who attempted to sell her late Mother's jewels and could potentially be caught up in the situation that her and her partner have been sent to investigate.

Full of mystery, intrigue, twists and quite the cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to see what would happen next and whether Evelyne might learn why her Father us also in Portugal.

Highly recommend this book and looking forward to the next one!

Oh yeah this was a good follow up but that ending has me jonesing for the next release. Like what? David? Ughhhh

Much better then first two books

This was a good listen. Kept my attention while deep into crocheting hats. Looking forward to the next one.

Disappointing Installment in an Otherwise Enjoyable Series

I’ve really enjoyed the earlier books in the Evelyne Redfern series, but this one just wasn’t it for me. The pace felt slow and the espionage angle, which should have been intriguing, never really pulled me in. Instead, much of the story seemed to circle around looking for different male characters without delivering the kind of tension and twists I was hoping for. I kept waiting for the suspense to kick in, but it never really did. Fans who like more character-driven, slower historical mysteries might enjoy it, but as someone who wanted sharper intrigue like in the previous installments, I came away disappointed.

Slow, slow, slow

I really liked the first two books in this series which is why I was so disappointed in this one. Incredibly slow pace with not much action. The lead male, David, is described as rule abiding and by the book yet he does something so “out of character” just to move the romance angle forward and then does a complete reversal at the end. The storyline was not intriguing which doesn’t make me look forward to the next book especially if the author is trying to level up the dangers.
