Publisher's summary

Does a ghost from the past want the man of her future?

Callie is thrilled when she inherits a house in the small town of Shadow Valley. The house is old and creaky, but she’s not afraid of hard work. Unfortunately, no matter how many repairs she makes, the strange noises won’t go away. Cold spots appear. Lights flicker. Footsteps sound down the hallway. Her nerves are soon so frayed that she resorts to calling the one person in town she hasn’t been able to get along with, bullheaded police chief Carter Landry.

Carter doesn’t have time to investigate things that go bump in the night - although, with Callie, the idea is tempting. He’s busy working with the governor’s task force on a major case and dealing with a rash of petty Halloween crimes. He knows that Callie’s house isn’t haunted...no matter what town legend says.

Still, when her distress call comes in, Carter is quick to respond. He may not believe in ghosts, but someone is intentionally scaring the sassy blonde. And he doesn’t like it. As he investigates, the friction between the two of them ignites into passion...and the strange occurrences in the house subside. But could Carter’s presence be the reason? Callie fears that her sexy cop may be the one the ghost has wanted all along.

annoying

After listening to this I've dicovered my new pet peeve. The narrator cannot pronounce words with 't' in the middle. For example, "buh-en" instead of button, or "forguh-un" instead of forgotten. The worst is the repeated name "Mor-en" instead of Morten. I almost made a drinking game out of it, so hard to get through.

great read. meh narrator

It was a fun book with a pretty decent twist, but the narrator kind of got on my nerves. She pronounced "didn't" as "dinint" and other contractions got the same treatment. Not really a deal breaker, just a pet peeves.

3 stars-

I liked the story and the way the author weaved in clues as to how the story would end. I wish there hadn’t been so many because it made the ending predictable, but there was an added surprise so that made up for it. I liked the story and tries at mystery.
The narrator- I’m not s fan of her voices for her characters. I noticed I didn’t mind her reading voice but all the others were like nails on a chalk board and too similar to one another. I’ll think I would have enjoyed the story more had I read it.

Not a bad listen...

The book had a good story although you are able to figure out what is going on early in the story. It will easily hold your attention. There is mystery a little suspense which I have found lacking in many romance books. The narrator did a good job although other reviews were right, her pronunciation of "didn't, wouldn't and couldn't" was very distracting. The fact that all the characters pronunced it the same way drew your attention and made it less believable. But since it is free on the romance package it makes it well worth a listen. The book is much better than a lot of the books offered in the package. But please authors stop making the women fall in love in such a sort amount of time it is so irritating.

cute romance

Cute romance, a bit predictable. About halfway through the narrator began to annoy me with her refusal to pronounce the letter T in the middle of words.

I love this book.

I love the ghost story, It is perfectly corny, sexy and I love each caricature for exactly who they are. I have red this book multiple times, wish there were more like it.

Quite enjoyable!

Great narrator! Good story, likable character's, mystery and good sexy scenes done quite well. This wasn't insta-love, thank goodness!

This was a quickly engaging read/listen that keep me listening from start to finish. The author did an excellent job. The only thing that would have made this just a tad better is to have heard more about Adelaide's story. I look forward to reading more from her.
