Inverting the Pyramid is a pioneering soccer book that chronicles the evolution of soccer tactics and the lives of the itinerant coaching geniuses who have spread their distinctive styles across the globe. Through Jonathan Wilson's brilliant historical detective work, we learn how the South Americans shrugged off the British colonial order to add their own finesse to the game; how the Europeans harnessed individual technique and built it into a team structure; how the game once featured five forwards up front, while now a lone striker is not uncommon.

When Ball Four was published in 1970, it created a firestorm. Bouton was called a Judas, a Benedict Arnold and a “social leper” for having violated the “sanctity of the clubhouse.” Baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn tried to force Bouton to sign a statement saying the book wasn’t true. Ballplayers, most of whom hadn’t read it, denounced the book. It was even banned by a few libraries. Almost everyone else, however, loved Ball Four.

Practical Soccer...er, Football... Strategies
This slim volume is not comprehensive in nature, but it is practical. The book outlines some of the most valuable specific things you can do to improve your soccer (or football, if you're not American) skills.
I think it could prove useful in any number of situations and players of many different levels could benefit from these tips. I recommended it to a friend who is helping coach youth soccer this summer.

Improve you soccer game now!
I purchased this book after joining an adult coed soccer team. I played in college but had lost touch with the game in the years following. This book really helped me get back into the swing of things and I'm even a better player than I was back then. The tips and strategies to prepare yourself mentally, intelligent and strategic ways to maximize your skills, are amazing and have drastically helped me improve. Theres also a great section about exercising specifically for the game. Great book!

Incredible Soccer Guide!
Would you consider the audio edition of Soccer: Soccer Strategies to be better than the print version?
I think both are about the same. Usually I like the audio version better, but this time I believe both portrayed the information similarly.

Improve your soccer game in no time
This is another one of those books that I got because even though I'm not trying to be an expert at the game, I can always use some extra tips and tricks when I play with friends and family. I have three grown sons and two still coming up so I try to be good at sports as much as I can. I also like audio books because I'm constantly on the run. If you need a few good tips to playing soccer better, this is the book for you!

Lose Weight And Get Healthy With Soccer!
Would you consider the audio edition of Soccer: Soccer Strategies to be better than the print version?
That really depends on your preference and lifestyle. If you're a multitasker and cant find time to sit for a few hours and read a book, then this is absolutely for you!
Any additional comments?
Getting fit and healthy can be fun with team sports! But the difficulty comes in finding people to play with. You could join an adult league, but they expect you to have some prior knowledge of the sport...
Luckily, that's where this audio-book comes in! It will teach you everything from basic rules to sneaky tricks that the pros like to use! Because of this, it's actually perfect for anyone at any level.
So if you have a high-school or college soccer player that might like this, you could give this to them too!
