Publisher's summary

Wondering if science could explain how he survived his 40-year avalanche of drugs and alcohol, Ozzy Osbourne became one of a handful of people in the world to have his entire DNA mapped in 2010. It was a highly complex, $65,000 process, but the results were conclusive: Ozzy is a genetic anomaly. The "Full Ozzy Genome" contained variants that scientists had never before encountered and the findings were presented at the prestigious TEDMED Conference in San Diego - making headlines around the world.

The procedure was in part sponsored by The Sunday Times of London, which had already caused an international furor by appointing Ozzy Osbourne its star health-advice columnist. The newspaper argued that Ozzy's multiple near-death experiences, 40-year history of drug abuse, and extreme hypochondria qualified him more than any other for the job. The column was an overnight hit, being quickly picked up by Rolling Stone to give it a global audience of millions.

In Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy, Ozzy answers reader's questions with his outrageous wit and surprising wisdom, digging deep into his past to tell the memoir-style survival stories never published before - and to offer guidance that no sane human being should follow. Part humor, part memoir, and part bad advice, Trust Me, I'm Dr. Ozzy includes some of the best material from his published columns and answers to celebrities' medical questions.

Entertaining

Entertaining book with Ozzy’s advice, but couldn’t stand the voices for the questions. Almost stopped listening because of that.

Stick with I am Ozzy

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It wasn't unlistenable or complete waste of time, just not a great use of time. The narrator sounded very much like Ozzy, and it wasn't an unpleasant narrative. The trouble was that it came across as Dear Abby style question after mind numbingly stupid question by witless Ozzy fans, and Ozzy responding with obviously predictable answers. The answers were given in Ozzy's own style, though definitely not the type of answers any sane person couldn't give. Really anybody could have written a book like this given the same list of mail in questions.

Any additional comments?

I am Ozzy was a far better read, in fact one of the best and funniest autobiographies I've read. It was written in the same style as this with much more wit, better stories, and more relevance to Ozzy's personal life including his time with Sabbath, his solo career, as well as everything leading up to and between.

Its Ozzy, what else needs to be said!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Most definitely!

Any additional comments?

A surprisingly good listen, enjoyed it very much. This could also be listed in the Comedy section. Even if your not an Oz fan, its hard not to like.

Funny, but narration not great

Funny book. The guy narrating Ozzy is great, but the narrators for the other people/characters are kind of weird and annoying.

just as good as I remember

when I was a young boy in middle school I had checked this book out from my public library. Couldn't tell you what it was doing there, or why the librarian let a twelve year old boy take it. To put a long story short some things went over my head back then, but listening to it now ten years later. It was fun. So many things made more sense, and the life advice, while not the best, was good. Frank Skinner does a wonderful job at reading the book, and all in all makes for an enjoyable experience. The book however... is definitely not for everyone.
