Donna Hogan, Anna Nicole Smith's sister and a confidante to her and other family members, provides an intimate and mesmerizing account of how Anna escaped poverty, anonymity, and an abusive family as she rocketed to fame. All too soon, Anna crashed to earth at the age of 39, weighed down by drugs, alcohol, lawsuits, scandal, and the unexpected death of her 20-year-old son, Daniel.
Born Vickie Lynn Hogan, she left school in 10th grade, had a son by age 18, became a stripper at 20, and married a billionaire at 26. She transformed herself through plastic surgery and sheer determination into Anna Nicole Smith, Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1993, and a spokesperson for Guess Jeans and TrimSpa. She later starred in her own reality TV series, The Anna Nicole Show, on E!. She told everyone who would listen that she would be the next Marilyn Monroe. And she pursued that dream right to its tragic end.

"If you're a fan of Law & Order or CSI, this riveting book is for you." (Roger Friedman, Fox News)
I enjoy having audiobook bios/memoirs of very controversial, polarizing people. This sounded like a very bad, never ending high school one-sided tirade against Anna Nicole Smith.
Hearing a very formal English narrator completely threw me off and was absolutely unnecessary. Then, when Hogan begins narrating, it gets even worse because she's a poor narrator.
Please- save yourself time and a credit: do not get this audiobook.
If you followed the story in the news and media, then basically you do not need to read the book. Anna's half sister just wrote about news accounts and spewed off dates the entire time. She based this book on media stories and really nothing else. Do not waste your time
This audio book is horrible-if I could give it minus a star-I would. The story is poorly told and it was a waste of time. Do yourself a favor-do the author a favor-save your money and purchase something else.

Faye Resnick loves this because she can actually hold a book up and say "See, I am not the lowest scummiest sell-out non-writer "author" of all time!" I decided to listen to this because with the recent decade anniversary of Anna Nicole's death it sparked an interest in me to know more about such an interesting and larger than life person. I would never call her a role model or a person anyone should want to emulate, but goodness gracious, she is someone you can't help but be intrigued by. I feel like we got to see most of the good, the bad, and the ugly with Anna Nicole through Anna Nicole herself so I don't know what possessed her half sister to so eagerly and joyfully remind us of all the bad in Anna Nicole's life. Then, as if the bad isn't bad enough, she adds to the story her own jaded perspective and surely more than a few colorful lies. What a jealous woman! I am almost offended that she assumes we as readers can't see past her passive aggressive self promoting insecure jealous BS! Who has time to worry about wicked stepsisters when you have this horrible half sister to contend with? Donna Hogan is obviously trying hard to disenchant us with the ever enchanting Anna Nicole and to gain our sympathies for herself, but it just backfired on her. This book made me even more compassionate toward Anna Nicole. It is apparent that Donna Hogan doesn't understand that you have to be super famous to follow Anna's mantra that any press is good press. If you are a nobody then writing such a horrible posthumous book about someone just gives you fifteen minutes of looking like a huge CENSORED. Also, I am confused on who actually narrated this book. There is an Englishwomen in the beginning but then a woman with a southern drawl, whom is eagerly trying to sound like Anna Nicole, takes over. At one point it sounded like she accidentally BELCHED! This is just a piece of trash, but if you enjoy celebrity gossip you will probably think this is a fun listen. I don't regret listening to it but I sure hope that woman doesn't get a dime for it.
