great book!

This was a wonderful book to listen to. I enjoyed learning about her life. Will listen to her other book as well.

A jewel!

Carol Burnett gives a splendid performance reading this audiobook, award-worthy, in my opinion. The stories range from hilarious to heart-breaking. To hear them in her voice is to savor her talent, but what I appreciated most is her courage, kindness, and gratitude.

And we're glad we had this time together too

Based on the question and answer segments she used to do in her shows, this is a series of anecdotes, most of them humorous, but some bittersweet. Ranging from her upbringing and breakthrough on Broadway to capsule character studies of some of the important cast members and guest stars on her show, this book will invoke fond memories of her tv show and update you on her life since. And no one could do a better job narrating the book than she does. If you loved the show, you'll love the book. And if you don't remember the show, get it for someone in your family who does.

Thoroughly Enjoyed :)

Carol did just as she does in all of her shows and just talks like she would to a friend. I loved her way of expression and her stories. Whether about herself or another, funny or serious. All of her stories were enjoyable.

The plus being that she read the book, yet it didn't feel like a read, but more as her just talking, which since it was her book as told by her, was just talking.

Throughout Carol's life I have watched her on TV and movies and have adored her and have always believed she was a "Real" person. After reading this book I find I have been right all along. Thank you Carol for sharing yourself with us.

I’ve always liked Carol but I’ve never read anything by her. This book is full of funny and heartwarming stories. Her writing is honest and clear. It feels like sitting across from her on the couch and having a conversation.
