What did you love best about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

A fascinating, complex and well woven story, from start to finish. A great prelude to the following two books in the Trilogy.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

The wack over the head with a golf club to a low life in the process of gloating about his conquests, from the five foot nothing hero (Lisbeth Salander), sensational in the book, this Audio Book and in the movie(s).

What about Saul Reichlin’s performance did you like?

The reader did really well, the strange Swedish names never seemed to trouble him.

It's tragic that Stieg Larsson has passed on. This, along with the following two books/stories in the Millenium Trilogy are totally absorbing. I am awaiting the Audio Books from Audible and this reader, for the later two books.

Totally exciting!

Well researched! Makes you want to visit Sweden. The title makes you expect something quite different though. Cant wait for the next book in the trilogy.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I enjoyed listening to this intriguing but dark story. The author did a great job of creating characters that were intriguing and interesting. The narrator kept the flow of the story going and did well at differentiating the characters. On occasion, because of the sheer number of Characters with unfamiliar Swedish names, I struggled to keep track of who was who. Regardless of this fact I found this book to be a real thriller. It kept me on the edge of my seat until the end and left me wanting to pick up the next book in the trilogy.

Saul Reichlin is great!

As one can see from the numerous reviews preceding mine, this book is clearly a page-turner (even when there are no pages involved). This review offers praise for Saul Reichlin, who in my opinion should be narrating just about every book out there. His amazing reading catches the moods and voices of the various characters, and even without "he said" and "she said," it's clear who is speaking and the emotion behind the words. Five stars for both the book and Saul Reichlin's excellent reading.

Not overrated a must read for all!!!

I would definitely recommend this book even if you don't usually read mystery novels. The author does a great job of setting the scene and the characters for which there are many. But even with so many characters the author has the ability to ensure that you can remember the most important.

The very main characters Norwegian Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Bloomkvists are brilliantly miles apart in appearance and age but a wonderful duo for characters so intriguing and likeable that you just keep you wanting to know more about them.
Lizbeth is an intriguing 25 year old and is a private detective of sorts. However her life will fascinate you as much as the mystery trying to be solved. Mikael a financial journalist and editor of a magazine, is also a fantastic main character, and also addictive in the sense that the author only lets you know so much about him. Mikael is very blunt and straightforward. He is characterised very male in his life style. Never fully settled yet has the life that many other males would dream off and the type of man that send some women nuts over.

The mystery itself starts almost like a who done it novel, with the exception that the suspects are on a island instead of house. But it is so much more then that. The main characters Mikael and Lizbeth really make this book what it is and the questioning psychology and interest in people's personality that the author demonstrates in the book is what sets this book apart.

This book is the first of a trilogy. I loved every moment of the book and cannot wait to read the next two...

Oh and just a quick note on the author. He wrote this book as a hobby each night after work and the author's books are not overrated and are addictive.

wowe! what a story!

This was the type of book that I could not wait to get back to. The story kept me wondering right to the end. I did not figure it out. All the caracters are introduced and you think you have an idea as to how this will work but there are so many twists and turns you just never know. The book is quite descriptive of some aweful stuff so if you are sensitive to that it's probably better to read it so you can skim those things. However it was so well written, I'll "read" more by this author. Well read too!
