"Fantastic story - pulls no punches"

I downloaded this book on a whim. It had been on my to read list for a while but I kept moving away from it. I am so glad I finally got round to it.

The locations and names make it a bit hard to follow at first but you soon get into the swing of things and the characters are all fully formed and well described. The story kept my interest and I found myself looking for excuses to listen to another chapter. Defiantly fast paced and does not shy away from explicit descriptions. Well worth the time can't wait for the next one.

    "Outstanding"

This book took be by surprise. It was well told and surprising. After I had finished this one I had to buy the next and am now waiting with anticipation on the third. The author's story is even more surprising and worth researching. Well worth the read if you like adventures.

    "Needs alot of editing"

This book spends a lot of time talking about unnecessary things and only 3 chapters in the book are interesting. I Felt I wasted my time listening to this book. If you really want to hear this book get the abridged version.

    "Boring and slow"

I read a lot of audiobooks and usually choose which books to read by the star rating. I usually wholeheartedly agree with the star ratings but for this book I completely disagreed with the other reviewers. The story was slow and boring and I gave it a good go but after listening for five hours I decided I couldn't waste any more of my life listening to it. I certainly will not be listening to the other books in the trilogy.

    "Great trilogy, addictive read"

The millennium trilogy is just fantastic. I've not read anything like it before or since. I was gripped the whole way through and felt Id really got to know the characters and missed them when it was finished. Great story, great performance and great development.

    "Not sure about this one"

I didn't watch the film, but i read the reviews and thought i would give this a try. I didn't like this book. No major issues with the narration or the quality of the writing, i just found all of the Swedish place names and the character names (of which there were many) annoying! So many similarities in them that i was confused. Sorry, but i wouldn't recommend it based soley on that. Sometimes its the little things that matter...

    "what a story!"

Brilliant story, and so well performed.
I've been driving the long way home so I can hear more of the story each day. Its a real roller coaster ride, some parts are graphic and depraved, but the story is so fascinating I kept on listening wondering how it all might end.
Straight onto the next two books in the trilogy now - I can't wait to hear them

"So much more than the films."

    Wonderful! Exciting! Thrilling!

Impossible to read without getting confused, terrible to watch because it lacks so much depth... Yet turned into an unabridged audiobook it is far easier to keep up with the flow & still retain everything the book contains.

The story is beautifully woven, with fully fleshed out characters and locations. This is the reason that I prefer a book to a film, and an audiobook to a book.

It is so regrettable that this collection on 'Millenium' stories came to such a tragic stop. Across the series start (The Girl with...) the stories just get stronger & more interwoven. You can only start to imagine how great any future books would have been. I fear if the collection is carried on by another author, that the magic will be lost.

"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"

I was put off reading this book for ages - i don't know why - maybe the title didn't appeal, or the cover. And then I read it and was hooked and read all three and could hardly bear to put them down. Now I am trying the audio version and am really enjoying it too and can at least get on with other things while being read to! Really excellent.
