"Two stories in one"
One story wrapped in another, so just as one finishes, the other kicks off. A gripping story with interesting characters and an interesting figure-out-who-done-it puzzle.
"Swedish sub culture"
This book introduces us to a Swedish subculture we were previously unaware of, unless we ?re fans of Wallander. The mix of a high profile journo and gothic savant is compelling and irrestible. As individuals they are impressive . As a team they are unbeatable. The story is both original and exciting. It is a long while since I was so engrossed in a book Superb!
"Slow start but worth the effort"
This book was really slow to begin with but once you get into it it really captures you on so many levels.
I found this a little difficult to get into and to work out all the characters, but after about 30 minutes I was hooked. This is a fantastic read. It is gripping and you don't realise that the book is so long. Fantastic.
Having read this book I immediately purchased the other two books in the series. A terrific story with fascinating central characters and intruigning insights into life in Sweden. Brilliantly narrated!
Really good story full of suspense, suspicion and intrigue. Really well read too. Highly reccommended.
As this book is so popular i thought that i would give it a go, and am still trying to get through it months later. Am finding it a struggle to follow, the naration doesn't keep me engaged as with other books I have bought. When I read a review saying that Stieg Larsson shows Dan Brown how it should be done I bought it, i have listened to all of Dan Browns books and thoroughly enjoyed them, but this has just not gripped me. I will get to the end of it purely because I have bought it.
"Gripping from the first to the last"
Totally gripping storyline. A little slow to get going maybe but the rest makes up for it. Can't wait to listen to Part II and Part III of the Trilogy. Such a pity that Stieg is no longer with us
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Unabridged)""
The story itself is engaging, dramatic, descriptive and gruesome in some parts. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The especially brilliant thing about this audio-book was hearing the correct pronouciation of the place and people names. Often if I can't prononce the name or place I make them up and they end up with very strange and weird nicknames! Brilliant.
