False Advertising

What would have made Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration better?

If it were actually a recording of the book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Harper Lee again?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

Don't buy this if you, like I was, are looking for an audio recording of the book. I am an English teacher and find that audiobooks are more appealing to the students than my voice reading to them all the time. I thought this was and updated version. I was terribly mistaken.

Read Comments First

Would you try another book from Symphony Space and/or the narrators?

I learned a lesson from this. Read other people's thoughts first. Its chapter one in some book club reading. Not expecting this at all. Change the title from "UNABRIDGED" to "ABRIDGED". Waste of money.

NOT THE BOOK

Would you try another book from Harper Lee and/or the narrators?

How terrible. I was looking for the audio book and this isn't the book at all. The description and title are misleading. I hate that I had to pay for this and it's my first purchase from audible.com. Don't waste your money or time,

Misleading

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I wish there had been some reviews when I first bought this. It's not the story. Very disappointed!!

Would you be willing to try another one of the narrators’s performances?

No

I thought this was an audio book

I thought this was an audio book of To Kill A Mockingbird. No. This is a recording of a group of actors reading sections and making actorly comments. I thought they had little to say and nothing to add to the text. Some of them tried to be funny. I was disappointed and irritated that I had wasted me time and I find myself still in the market for what I originally thought I was buying - not the experience I had bargained for.

AVOID THIS.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

People who want to waste $4 on a 100-minute conversation about a book.

Has Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration turned you off from other books in this genre?

What is this genre?

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?

Sissy Spacek, like in the real audiobook.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Thalia Book Club: Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration?

Every single scene, then replaced it by a 10-hour unabridged reading by Sissy Spacek. How is that original audiobook not available on Audible?

Any additional comments?

I think it is deceitful for the publishers of this
