"I've experienced a whole lot the last few years, and I have a lot to share. So I hope that you'll take a moment to sit back, relax, and enjoy the words I've put together for you in this book. I think you'll find I've left no stone unturned, no door unopened, no window unbroken, no rug unvacuumed, no ivories untickled. What I'm saying is, let us begin, shall we?"

It was not as funny as her show. Maybe the ambience during the show makes her funnier.
It started out well but fizzled toward the end.
The narration was OK.
Quite a few after two-thirds of the book.
I still like her humor, just not in book form.
Graphic designer and University professor. I love comics and to be always learning something new!
I'm lucky to have been raised vegan like my parents and understand so much all she talks about positivism and kindness... The book fills you up with so much love and laughter that it's contagious!
For huge fans of Ellen like me, a little warning, there's a bunch of stuff she has already used on her monologues on her show but it's still funny :P
I live more than a 1.000.000 miles from USA and still makes a difference in my life! I loved it!
My expectations may have been too high for this, but I was disappointed. Maybe because I think Ellen had great observational stand-up and her show seems great from clips I've seen and the few times I've watched, but in those settings you see her AND hear her and I think that helps her delivery. I have not read or listened to her previous books. I just thought this Audible choice would be funny and it was kind of boring. She wasn't as animated as I thought and I just kept picturing her in a sound booth, annoyed that she had to narrate her own book. Haha. I'm still a fan of hers, but I think I would have liked this book better if I had read it in print.
Not riveting but enjoyable. I found it funny and that is the whole point after all. It is random thoughts and not a specific theme or story.
I've always been a huge fan of Ellen, but this takes it to a whole new level. it makes me feel connected with her. the book is appropriate for all ages. its funny, and its well read. im glad i bought it on audible instead of reading it. thank you Ellen for giving me something to do during math class. not like I pay attention anyways.
"Funny and easy listen"
Good for a laugh and gives a few points on which to think on. It was read like an extension of her monologues. Not to expect a deep, thought provoking serious novel which looks greatly into Ellen's personal life or anything like that or even following any story line of sorts. It was an overall light, relaxing, funny, random and enjoyable book to listen to and there were many moments which made me laugh throughout the book. The narration by Ellen herself added humour and a warmth to the book which i greatly enjoyed listening to it from beginning to end.
Great listen for any fan of Ellen
I thought I’d try this as a bit of light relief from the thrillers or serious novels I usually get. Ellen as a narrator is good; her voice is warm and engaging. Unfortunately the book itself is pure drivel. I expected after the glib introduction that it would settle down to some kind of interesting context, but it doesn’t, she skips through wise cracks on a number of topics without really saying anything at all. I gave up after chapter 7 and fast forwarded in the hope that I hit on something worthwhile. I didn’t. Very disappointing.
Really enjoyed this, Ellen is a favourite of mine, but im not one for autobiographies or anything like this normally but as it was ellen thought id give it a listen and am so glad I did. I enjoyed this book very much, made me laugh out loud and was very interesting and can honestly say loved it from start to finish well worth a listen and with Ellen reading it makes it even better.
Love this woman she is super funny, priceless entertainment😂 must read if you love to laugh, seriously I'm Not Kidding
"Fluff. Pleasant fluff, but fluff nonetheless."
Narrated? Definitely. I enjoy Ellen's patter and I'm a big fan of hers. The performance was the saving grace of these three hours.
Written? Well... that's another story. There's nothing to this book. There are a few funny bits, of course, but probably fewer than you'd get watching one episode of her show (or binge watching clips on YouTube). She also tries to bring forward her thoughts on positivity and self-worth, but never gets beyond the surface or says anything that couldn't fit on a greeting card.
Its like she tried to write a memoir, a self-help book, and a comedy book all at once, but didn't trust her audience to stick with her for more than a few hours. What you're left with is a disappointing jack-of-all trades with no depth or direction.
I wouldn't absolutely rule out another book by her, but I'll be very suspicious of future offerings, which is a shame. I know she can do better.
"I Didn't Think I Could Love Her More"
Absolutely Loved it. I would recommend it to anyone and tell them they're bound to enjoy it.
Ellen really inspired me and made me laugh I love her positivity and I hope to think more like her :)
unquestionably a brilliant fantastic book ......loved it...... amazingly funny and entertaining from start to finish.
yes, I find Ellen very funny, and this was nice to listen to, some chapters were better than others, some of them left me quite disappointed, but some chapters were outright funny, so overall worth it.
yes I will because I really like her. She's very funny. But it would have to be read by her too.
the best thing about this book is that it's read by the author.
No, it's too long for one sitting for me personally. You could probably do it if you were on the beach with no kids or something like that..
Just about 3 chapters that I really would recommend to skip.. but it has more than 50 chapters,so overall a good fun listen.
"good not great"
the most interesting aspect is Ellen being Ellen the least interesting thing is the story line was not what i expected
it made me smile
she is better seen than heard most of her jokes comes off better because of her gesticulation how she would look when she delivers her punch line her body movements
