Publisher's summary

More than seven years after his death, Michael Jackson continues to fascinate the world. Shana Mangatal was one of Jackson's only constant and true rocks of stability for nearly two decades. Their relationship was quiet and sweet and real - a closely guarded secret, known only to a few trusted employees and friends. Shana is now coming forward to tell their love story. Her story is rich with every little detail. She witnessed the scandals, lawsuits, the release of groundbreaking albums and subsequent world tours, big-budget short films, and addictions. Michael and Me entertains and inspires, but above all, Shana continues to treat Michael (and his legacy) with respect. This is not an exploitative tell-all, but rather a book that shows the side of Michael people never knew. In it, Shana paints a more intimate picture of this beloved, yet very misunderstood man.

Delusional

I'm sorry to say but I feel 100% that the author is extremely delusional and has created a book out of her obsession with Michael Jackson as a way to rewrite history so that it's the way it would have been in her dreams. I do not believe Michael and her had any sort of a relationship outside of work. I found myself laughing out loud as this point showed up several times throughout this work of fiction. Only the author and Michael know the real truth and sadly one of them can never tell us the truth. If it is true at least she has her memories of him forever but it's obvious she continued to do anything she could all the way up until the end to be in his life, as a stalker is known to do, in one form or another.

Very entertaining , just entertainment like Michael Jackson told the author “ don’t believe everything you read”

a star struck crush with an imaginary one sided relationship . Simple kind gestures of Michael Jackson was misunderstood as a relationship. Author seems nice but her interpretation of Michael’s kindness was confused as a romantic interest. Her actions are very obsessive. Most of the book was mostly about her wondering why Michael ghosted her and ignored her. Someone who pops in and out of your life is not a romantic partner. She calls herself a close friend of Michael Jackson. Writing a book and telling intimate details isn’t too friendly to me. No wonder was he seemed skeptical and dodging her.

Michael and me

As began listening to the first 13 chapters it was hard to hear, it seemed like she had disdain in her voice and judgement in her words so I stopped , two weeks later I went back and found the most sad love story ever written , there was laughter and joy and sadness in it I began to feel how the author felt as she read. I give her five stars and a thumbs up for her courage in being able to tell her story. I recommend all Jackson fans to read this and not Judge a book by its cover. May god bless you Shana. Rip Michael

Mixed Emotions

Shana did a fantastic job telling the story. She is wonderful with words, she added amazing quotes and her voice is so sweet. But on the other hand Michael isn't here to defend himself when it comes to this.. She even said herself that he told her never to talk to the press again about this situation. So I don't understand why she thought it was ok to write a book so personal about him. I just don't get it..

GREAT!!!

Took me a long time to decide to listen to this book by Shana. But once I did I loved it! She was a good friend to him and I throughly enjoyed listening to it.

Broke my heart and then made it bloom!

I recommend this book especially to those who are true Michael Jackson fans or anyone who is interested in the truth of his life. This story has it all: heartbreak, laughter, tears, joy. It’s been a long time since a book made me laugh and cry. I felt like I was being transported back in time and I was experiencing the story myself! This audiobook reignited my love for Michael Jackson and I felt it reopening my heart chakra which had been tightly closed for a long time. This story filled me with hope, inspiration and love.

Give it a chance, be open minded, its worth it

This book was a great experience for me. I appreciated how honest Shana was. She was able to bring Michael to life from that honesty. I was able to put myself in her shoes. It was beautifully written. There was so much passion, love, pain, confusion, excitement, determination and so much more. I laughed and cried. Together they created something magical without even trying because fate did all the work. 10/10 would by the book and read it again over and over. I listened to the audio version first which made it even better because Shana reads it herself and you can feel the emotions and truth in her voice. I absolutely loved it!
