Editorial reviews

One of the most beloved and talented narrators to ever record a book, Frank Muller narrated over 200 audiobooks in his lifetime, from classics to contemporary best sellers, and won several awards in the process. Muller's jaw-dropping versatility is in full display here as he fully embodies characters, from George Smiley's weary and enigmatic demeanor to the crafty shrewdness of a Dickensian villain. After listening to this montage of Muller's best performances, listeners will find themselves agreeing with Stephen King's declaration that when Muller reads, "the blind will see, the lame will walk, and the deaf will hear."

Publisher's summary

favorite narrator ever

Before listening to Stephen King's, the Talisman, I never really fully appreciated how a narrator could make or break an audio book. Frank Muller changed all that with his multiple voices and depth of expression. I found myself rewinding and listening again just for the hilarity in his cast of characters.

Frank will be missed.

I am sad to hear of Frank's death. He will surely be missed by many. For me his voice was the true voice of the Gunslinger in the Dark Tower series. Sorry George....
I have since enjoyed discovering all the other audiobooks Frank has narrated and am sad to know there will be no more. My thoughts go out to his wife and family. Enjoy the montage, it will not disappoint.

Wonderful Frank Mueller tribute

I've listened to literally thousands of audio books and Frank Mueller was far and above the best of a talented bunch. A narrator whose voice so infuses the characters with their own life that Stephen King has said that he actually changed his characters in the dark tower series to match the characterization Mueller was able to give them in his narration. I find myself buying audiobooks I have little interest in just so I can here drank mueller speak once more. This tribute catches a lot of the essence of his narrative style and I still am deeply moved whenever I listen to it. New listeners can use this clip to sample a great voice in the audio community and old listeners can say a
final goodbye to an old friend.

Wonderful overview

What a great overview of Frank's work! Although I confess that it brought tears to my eyes that he is no longer with us. Truly the best reader I have come across

Just excerpts of books he's narrated.

He's such a wonderful narrator. I am always looking for Frank Muller's narration when I buy from Audible.

So sad he is gone

Frank Muller was one of the most versatile narrators of all time. I am convinced he could read the phone book and make it interesting enough that I would have been compelled to listen. What a shame that his life was cut short, but how grateful we should all be that he left such a legacy of narrated books. RIP, Frank. We miss you.

A huge loss to audible listeners

Thank you Audiobook for this wonderful tribute to Frank Muller, one of the best narrators of our time. His narration is unparalleled and he brought Dickens's novels to life for me. The audiobook community has lost 2 giants recently: Frank Muller and Kate Fleming (a.k.a. Anna Fields). In their loss, I feel I lost friends as they had been regular companions on my daily commute. When you start searching for audiobooks by narrators versus authors, you know you are dealing with someone special, a unique voice, a captivating delivery and a captivating narration. RIP Frank Muller. You will be missed dearly.

What a loss

I remember first listening to The Gunslinger and thinking that the narration was absolutely superb. Then I noticed George was replaced on book two and I was hugely disappointed - only to find that Frank was (in this case, for me) even better. I frequently target books read by Frank (and George as well) - but for me the Dark Tower will always be a story sprung forth from Steven King's mind via Frank Muller's mouth.

Selfishly I am sad Frank will no longer be converting any more written words directly into images and sound in my head. My heart also goes out to his family and those who knew him. What a loss.
