I LOVE PAT CONROY, BUT......

Was An Interview with Pat Conroy, Author of My Reading Life worth the listening time?

Yes, I enjoyed hearing how he was drawn into writing this book. He is one of my favorite authors, top 5 in fact.

Any additional comments?

I realized I didn't care for his performance voice in the interview. My BAD I just had a different memory, I think it is more like Nick's memorable performance in Prince of Tides. I guess the entire thing boils down to, " youuuhoo, southern boy's got your fiddle", yes, it's truly to my ear "THE SOUTHERN WAY" and I just didn't hear it in this interview. I would probably love to read any of Pat's books rather than hear him read them to me.

Mildly Interesting

I am pleased I listened to this short interview, because I was about to purchase the audio book of My Reading Life narrated by the author.

Pat Conroy is a magnificent writer, but oh my ... he has a dreadful voice for interview, let alone as a narrator of an entire book !
I've found this to be true about some authors, Stephen King has not been gifted with a pleasant reading voice either, yet many of his books have appealed to me ( I'd previously refused to read any of King's books, so my husband pursued me to listen to him read me the entire Dark Tower volumes over a few months. )
I do go on..lol

What joy to hear Pat Conroy's voice

This is a short interview Pat Conroy gave after recording My Reading Life, which
I read a few years back and loved. The world lost a great voice when he passed away, but this brought back memories of hearing him at author events.

good interview

Pat Conroy is a phenomenal author. If you haven't read any of his books, do so now. His facility with the English language is dazzling. He writes how I wish I spoke. He uses adjectives and other modifiers to paint pictures unlike any you will see with almost any other author. I have a hard time picking favorite books or authors... but if I made a short list Pat Conroy would be on it right near the top.

Etc

it was an okay read. Nothing to write home about, but it was short.

Great interview

I really enjoyed listening to this - although it's short, it was a nice length for my commute, something different to check out for the morning. Check it out!
