It is hard to imagine life without music. We hear it constantly on the radio, TV, through our computers and iPods. However, as each song tells a story, there is often an even more amazing story behind the life of the musician. This unique audio collection from the Amazing People Club explores the life stories of five amazing musicians and reveals their challenges and what inspired them to create the music they did.
Irving Berlin, writer of songs including "God Bless America" and "There's No Business Like Show Business" is considered as one of the greatest and most important American songwriters. Elvis Presley's life has been documented in books and film's; however, it comes alive in a very different way through this audio. Louis Armstrong was one of the world's most amazing voices, and his life was truly remarkable. Follow him on his journey from poverty-stricken circumstances in New Orleans to becoming one of the world's most celebrated musicians. The equally amazing careers of George Gershwin and Al Jolson are also celebrated in this unique collection.
Each story comes to life through BioViews®. BioViews® are short biographical stories, similar to interviews. These unique stories provide an easy way of learning about amazing people who made major contributions and changed our world.

This is the worst book I've downloaded with 170 total downloads now. This book is written in the musicians point of view, with the narrator doing poor impersonations. The content is dumb and uninformative. I don't write reviews, but had to for this one, especially since it only has 1 right now and that being a 5/5. The voice of Elvis sounds more like a bad President Bush imitation then Elvis.
And then theres the poor content -
Elvis: "On my return I set back to work in the recording studio. On the song "Are You Lonesome Tonight", I hit that high G note. Another song called "It's now or never" had a great melody, a new phase had begun. The music industry publicity machines swung into action. "Elvis is Back" was the title of my 10th album. However the live performances were few and far in-between. The colonel had other plans he said would pay well. Making films would take up most of my time. One after another they were written in quick succession. There war 31 of them man, including "GI Blues", a parody of army life. Probably made too many of them in too short of time. It meant that the songs were written to fit the schedule"... "On May 1 1967 we (Priscilla) married, nearly 10 years after we a first met. Our daughter Lisa Marie was born 9 months later. The newspapers were full of the stories, most of them untrue. However it was not a conventional marriage. All the work on the movies meant that I was away for long periods of time, there were stresses and strains most couples do not have. Of course there were many attractive woman around, so maybe it was inevitable that we separated. The divorce took place on Feb 23rd 1973. The years in between had been ones of high living. Not least of which was the successful return to Los Vegas. The colonel had arranged a contract of one million dollars a year. Also, there was the meeting with President Nixon. It was a time of great stress, both on and off the stage. Drugs were everywhere and part of the scene. Sure they were around during my army days, but now there were more of them and it was easier to get them"... "never the less i hadn't found contentment, yet i had given pleasure to millions of people around the world. Despite having the beautiful place to live I still felt troubled. The trouble got worse and worse and depression set in, and more and more drugs. and that only took care of the problems for a little while."
This is verbatim and it basically 75% of the Elvis content, and like 20% of the audio book right there. I mean seriously? What garbage writing. THis reminds me of say a high school student being given a written assignment during a test or something and b.s.'ing 200 words on the spot. I'm trying to get a refund or credit on this one. I can't believe someone gave 5/5/
