Deep learning is a very exciting concept. Before, computers could only do what they were directly taught. Today, they can make sense of unstructured data and learn without supervision, like good college students. This unsupervised learning from unstructured data is called deep learning. This book will explain the key concepts of deep learning and teach you the basics of Python, the programming language most widely used in deep learning.

Story
Today's "machine-learning" systems, trained by data, are so effective that we've invited them to see and hear for us - and to make decisions on our behalf. But alarm bells are ringing. Systems cull résumés until, years later, we discover that they have inherent gender biases. Algorithms decide bail and parole - and appear to assess black and white defendants differently. We can no longer assume that our mortgage application, or even our medical tests, will be seen by human eyes. And autonomous vehicles on our streets can injure or kill.

Story
Artificial intelligence does the seemingly impossible - driving cars, trading stocks, and teaching children. But facing the sea change that AI will bring can be paralyzing. How should companies set strategies, governments design policies, and people plan their lives for a world so different from what we know? In Prediction Machines, three eminent economists recast the rise of AI as a drop in the cost of prediction. With this single, masterful stroke, they lift the curtain on the AI-is-magic hype and show how basic tools from economics provide clarity about the AI revolution and a basis for action by CEOs, managers, policy makers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

Story
Machine learning is a use of artificial intelligence (AI) that gives software the capacity to naturally learn and improve without being unequivocally modified. Machine learning centers around the improvement of computer programs that can get to data and use it to learn for themselves. The way toward learning starts with perceptions or data - for example, models, direct understanding, or guidance, so as to search for designs in data and settle on better choices later, depending on the models that we give.

In Superminds, Thomas Malone explains what we need to do to take advantage of this potential. Groundbreaking and utterly fascinating, Superminds will change the way you work - both with others and with computers - for the better.

Story
In no more than the blink of an eye, a naïve optimism about technology’s liberating potential has given way to a dystopian obsession with biased algorithms, surveillance capitalism, and job-displacing robots. System Error exposes the root of our current predicament - how big tech’s relentless focus on optimization is driving a future that reinforces discrimination, erodes privacy, displaces workers, and pollutes the information we get- and outlines steps we can take to change course, renew our democracy, and save ourselves.

Nothing wrong with it
I liked this book. I was given it for free, but I was listening to it, and I thought the narrator did a great job. Great information. Great topic. All in all, nothing wrong with it.

This is the future
I am glad there are books like this out there. It shows with an almost unbiased opinion (yes, almost, not all the way) what the pros and cons are of AI and what we need to watch out for or take advantage of.
The author explains a lot about computers and data, but he keeps a generalized vision and an open mind, so that all aspects of these things are highlighted sufficiently. In this day and age, artificial intelligence is on the rise. It's in phones, computers, the internet, TV, and almost everywhere you look nowadays. Get yourself educated at least about the basics, is what I would say! Thanks, Victor.

Loved it
In my eyes, it was just one of those books you can not really avoid. You can not ignore it, because it is one of the best on the market. I might become repetitive here, but that's just how I think of it.

Interesting
It could have been a little longer, but it's okay. It makes it cheaper this way. Nice, 1-hour book about artificial intelligence. I got this book for a code or something. And I'm expressing my honest opinion. I give it 4 stars because the narrator was really good, but there were a few sentences I didn't get. The author could have formulated those a bit better. Good message, though, and yes, very important in 2019, artificial intelligence.

Book is great, narration is terrible.
Extremely poor narration that was robotic and monotone. Book was speed read with minimal pauses which made it hard to focus on the material.
