Resumen del Editor

American Political Parties is a core textbook on political parties in the United States that places the US party system into a framework designed around the disagreements between Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. White and Kerbel argue that the two-party system in the United States began with a common agreement on the key values of freedom, individual rights, and equality of opportunity, but that Hamilton and Jefferson disagreed—often vehemently—over how to translate these ideals into an acceptable form of governance.

While Hamilton wanted to marry freedom to a strong, active federal government with an energetic president who would act on behalf of all citizens, Jefferson believed that freedom should be allied to local civic virtue, with governmental responsibilities placed primarily at the local level. Today, Hamiltonian nationalism finds its home in the Democratic Party, while Republicans have espoused Jeffersonian localism since 1964. Using this historical framework, American Political Parties examines a range of topics including marketing and social media, campaign finance, reforms in the presidential nominating process, political demography, and third parties. In this new edition, the authors describe four possible futures in the wake of the 2020 election and why Americans believed it was "the most important" election in their lifetimes.

Politics for the modern twist

Dear readers and reviewers, I am about to talk about a controversial topic that most people either love or hate. Rather, you are a democrat independent or Republican. However, in my personal opinion if every American read this book they wouldn't know how to have a decent discussion about democracy and politics.

You are about to hear the perspective from a blue dog democrat which is in modern terms a conservative Democrat. Most people think conservative and Democrats do not belong in the same sentence; but I disagree wholeheartedly. The reason why people in America can I have a decent argument about politics today; is because people forgot one what democracy is and to their morals and values have gone out the I’m at the door.

Furthermore, people in America have forgotten how to initially have an argument about this topic because they cannot agree to disagree. As a matter of fact, that is why this book is neutral. It is a book for a Republican Democrat or independent. Additionally, I believe they live every American rent or listen to the audiobook we could come back together and save democracy. But that is wishful thinking. More importantly, my belief is that if everybody either listened to this audio version of the book or read the book people wouldn't want to talk about politics again and have a decent moral discussion about something that people hate.

Additionally I believe the reason why people like to argue about politics is not only because of the political climate we live in today or the party system for that matter it is because the modern American today does not understand how the United States government is run. Which I think is a American crime. Americans should be ashamed of theirselves.

In other words, I am effectively saying before Americans go all gung ho on giving one political party too much power they need to read this book. Not only so they understand and can apply modern-day politics and government fundamentals to the way they vote but still we can work on bringing democracy back together for these people of the United States of America.

In conclusion, my belief might not be fact and yes we can have disagreements but Americans need to learn how to have decent politically centered arguments. Without shoving down each other's throats not only so we can build back a better America; but also so we can build back better stronger America. So Americans can go back to their peaceful diplomatic democracy. A life where we are free and Home of the brave. The last thing we need to be doing as Americans is fighting about which political party is in power. This is 2024 for crying out loud it is time to build back a stronger America a better America and America for everybody to come together; so that generations before me and after me can have a future. With that I say god bless America have a good day.
