Publisher's summary

"No eligible bachelor wants to marry a bluestocking...especially not those frightful Chadwick girls." (Lady Jersey, Almacks Patroness)

Amelia's writing was often prone to getting her into trouble. Hence why she eventually took on a pen name. But it seems, once again, her unthinking need to spill out everything onto paper will land her in hot water.

After her sisters persuade her the only way to get over her love for Lord Nicholas Wentworth is to write about him, Amelia devotes hours and hours of ink to the subject. However, she never expects for Nicholas to end up in possession of this information. How could she admit her affection for him when she knows full well he is still in love with her now married sister?

To save herself embarrassment - and, more importantly, to keep her pen name hidden - Amelia must find a way to intercept these letters, and, if she cannot, she must persuade Nicholas it was all some awful jest and that she is certainly not A. Hardwick - purveyor of stories so scandalous that it would mean utter ruination for all the Chadwick girls should the truth come out.

Great!

Really enjoyed this short and sweet historical romance! I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of trying a historical romance for the first time - I think this story is exactly the type that would get them hooked on this genre. Well written with wonderful characters! I can't wait for more in this series!

Great short story.

This was a great short romance. I listened to it in a night because I wanted to know what happened. I would definitely listen to books by this author/narrator again.

Bluestockings Revenge...

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Love stories with happy endings are always my favorite light read. If they are also historical novels with a heroine that is unconventional and ahead of her times, the experience becomes even more enjoyable. That is what I found in this first book of Samantha Holt's series, "Bluestocking Brides". The brooding Viscount is all that a stereotypical hero should be, but Amelia's verve is the right counterbalance to the expected.

A funny and sweet romance

Amelia and the Viscount took a while for me to like but after a while I started to like it more than a little! It was humorous, sweet and hopeful but with a little dash of naughtiness included in the romance! It was also very nice to see a man who finally appreciate the woman who had been in front of him for an awfully long time!
But what I found the best of the story was the sisters interactions, and how the storyteller made the sisters come alive in my mind! A truly worth read with a sweet if humorous romance

Short and sweet listen

Amelia is essentially a spinster and a romance writer (under a pen name) in a time when it was frowned upon for women to have such a career. One of her younger sisters was recently married, though not to Lord Nicholas Wentworth, whom had been in love with her. Well, Amelia had always loved Nicholas. So much so that she had taken to writing letters to him professing her love to him, which accidentally get sent to him. This short, under three hour listen goes into the story of what happens next, complete with your HEA.

While this was a perfectly fine listen, it moved crazy fast. I didn't feel any attachment to the characters, which I do prefer to. This is not because it's a shorter listen, as I have listened to quite a few novellas where the author does a good job developing the characters and making the reader invested in a short period. The characters were likable and as I mentioned, the reader does get their HEA. Stevie Zimmerman did a lovely job with her performance. It was easy to tell the characters apart and I would definitely listen to her again if I had the chance.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

An endearing story

This was an endearing story. The author has captured the essence of the siblings, with their amusing banter but fierce loyalty. I loved how the sisters came up with madcap schemes to help Amelia in attracting the attention of Nicholas. The sisters are not all conventional and that was part of their appeal. There is also the burgeoning romance between Amelia and Nicholas. I have heard Stevie Zimmerman narrating other books and have always found her easy to listen to. She uses different voices to bring the characters to life. I was given a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it.

Charming Historical Romance

The Chadwick sisters are an unconventional bunch, a group of girls more interested in their various hobbies than men. Amelia Chadwick is the oldest of her five sisters, and finds her happiness writing salacious stories under a pen name. Amelia writes to move past her love for Lord Nicholas Wentworth, who happens to be in love with her married sister Lavinia. Amelia knows that Nicholas could never see her in a romantic way. After all, she's a red-haired bluestocking, the exact opposite of her elegant younger sister Lavinia.

Amelia writes Nicholas several letters declaring her love for him in an effort to move on.
When the packet of letters is accidentally mailed to Nicholas, she and her sisters have to find a way to intercept them.

This was a charming little historical romance, it was both funny and sweet. The plot moves along quickly with a lot of witty dialogue. Nicholas and Amelia shared some sweet moments and plenty of heat. I loved the sisters and their relationship, it's going to be interesting to see them each meet up with their perfect match. A novella with plenty of personality, it's perfect for an afternoon read!

Stevie Zimmerman's narration was excellent as always, she brought the story to life. She performed distinct voices for the characters and had the perfect voice for Nicholas. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is so much fun

Amelia and her sisters do not conform to societies standards and don't want to. This has made finding husbands rather challenging and apart from Amelia they don't seem to care. I love these sisters, they're such a quirky bunch and make no apologies for being themselves and following their interests, reading about them is engaging and fun.

I spent most of the book grinning although there are some slightly more serious moments. Overall this is a fun sweet romance and a great way to spend a few hours.

The narration is well done with great character voices and the delivery was natural and well paced.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.
