Publisher's summary

Two pulp adventure stories set in 1940s Chicago.

In the first story, the city is under the control of a ruthless crime boss who seeks to unite all illegal activities under his control. Unexpected competition arrives in the person of a masked killer, The Inferno, who uses flame as a weapon. Opposing them both is The Eclipse, a masked vigilante.

In the follow-up story, a new crime lord has stepped in to take the place of the fallen gang leader. He sets his sights on obtaining a powerful new weapon that will guarantee him a stranglehold on the city. The Eclipse squares off against gangland and a ruthless band of saboteurs intent upon securing the device for their rival nation.

A great pulp story

Mask crime fighter in the 1940's. Great stuff.

The Eclipse is a masked hero in 1940's Chicago. The narrator does a great job of doing the different voices of over the top heroes and villains.

Example action ... the Eclipse tailed some hoodlums to a bar, and they get sent to search a house. The hero arranges to get hired to help. Searching the study with them, he notices a wonky floorboard, but doesn't tell the bad guys. The others find nothing, so they decide to set the house on fire. The hero sneaks in, lifting up the rug that is already on fire. He opens up the floorboard and reaches in for the evidence. Only for his arm to get caught in the booby trap as fire surrounds him.

Recommended.
