Great cozy mystery!

I loved A Murderous Grudge by JM Roberts. Peggy Rector returns to her hometown of Stinky Springs and is reconnecting with old friends. Her hope for some peace and quiet in the country is shattered when she finds a dead body and then a second person is killed. Peggy and her friends in the Ladies Social Club get busy to find a killer. I loved the friendship and support among the characters, the resilience and strength that they had dealing with their own personal situations. The narration by Amelia Mendez is wonderful. Her performance brought the characters and story to life. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

Absolutely Loved This!

Wow! I read a lot of cozy mysteries, and I have to say this one is now at the top of my favorite list! It's rare when I find a book that I like ALL of the characters, but I truly enjoyed each one. Owen was a particular favorite, he made me laugh out loud. Peggy (MC) had several things going on, everything blended well as life goes on. Then Wanda was a bit shady but in a good way. I will be reading this again and again. The storyline was good, I had a difficult time deciding who I thought the murderer would be. So much fun finding out though. The narrator did a great job and made all the characters come alive. I highly recommend this to cozy mystery readers.

Great Cozy Mystery!!

This was such a fun book! I loved all of the friendships in Stinky Springs and I wish I could join the ladies social club. Like any good cozy mystery, this made me want to move to a small town and solve crime. I had a blast going along with all of the hijinks these characters got into. The mystery itself was really well done. I didn't know who the murder was until the final clues fell into place. The way a good mystery should be. The red herrings weren't obvious and it had me questioning everyone's motivations. I almost want to go back and listen again just so I can better appreciate the foreshadowing.

This was a delightful listening experience! It was narrated with such joyful exuberance that it made me smile and laugh along with the characters. The different voices and personalities of the ensample of quirky characters was so skillfully narrated that I forgot I was listening to an audiobook. I feel like I was breaking into houses to get evidence right alongside them.

Light and enjoyable listen!

Attention grabbing and continuous wondering

I loved both Peggy Rector mysteries. The stories flow in a way that the reader is always engaged and wondering who the real culprit is. I think it is very original that Peggy has her circle of friends participate in the investigations and how she gathers information from everyone in her community to help clear the names of those who have been mistakenly accused. I would love to read more about Peggy Rector's mysteries. Thank you!

Entertaining mystery

Peggy moved back home to her home town of Stinky Springs after her husbands death. She writes romance novels per her clients personal specifications. One of her clients, soon to be ex, husband begins to threaten Peggy. In addition to that, she find a body on the pickle ball court and she becomes a suspect in the crime. Together with the ladies in town, she begins her own investigation to find the real killer and clear her name.
Loved the town, the ladies and their friendships and the possible romance that unfolded in this story.
