Publisher's summary

Mike lived by the marine sniper mantra: One shot, one kill.

During his time in the jungles of Vietnam, Mike was confronted with having to hunt and kill the enemy and being hunted in return.

Now, for the first time, marine veteran and debut author, Phil Lenser, guides listeners through Mike’s extraordinary final mission. This historical combat thriller reveals to listeners the real experiences of a combat sniper in one of America’s bloodiest wars.

The story carries listeners from assignment preparation to completion and then beyond into the complications when things went wrong.

Sit in as two marines talk out what happened and how Mike's faith has helped him live with his survival.

Author Review - I Love it!

Yes, that's my voice you hear. I wrote and then worked at recording our book.

I had the recording work nearly completed when I decided it could be better. I found a new sound engineer that encouraged a great deal of extra creativity that, honestly, I didn't know was a part of me until working on this project.

Now, I'm very pleased with what we created for you to hear.

Thank you, Mike, for sharing your story!

Semper fi,

Phil Lenser

Horrible Read

come on guys, be honest. This was written and read by a 7th grader about his favorite uncle, Mike.
First chapter this "author" states the the vertical lines in the scope are for windage and the Horizontal for distance. What???
Then he refers several times the NVA soldiers as "Troopers" What?? Troopers primarily come from the word Para (troopers). I was never aware of any NVA paratroopers. The exception were the great solders of the 1st Cav whose rich heritage goes back to the taming of the west where the low ranking Cav solder were referred to as Troopers.
He then goes on to say that when Mike was wounded and in the chopper heading back the medic or crew chief (don't remember which) told Mike he may have his leg amputated. What????That would NEVER happen. Great way to send the guy into shock not to mention just a real irresponsible and stupid thing to tell a guy with a leg wound.
The most annoying was the sing song delivery of either a 12 year old or drunk . I could only take the first chapter before giving up. Almost drove me to writing a country western song...."I'm going to kill myself or go bowling"
.
Did you notice the only review before this one was by the author/reader and gave himself 5 stars in all catogories ? Classy.
