Is there anything you would change about this book?

The main charterers the guy is pushy which I can deal with but the female lead you just want to slap with how whiny she is through out the whole book. I kept hoping it was going to get better but it didn't. Wow what an annoying waste of time, not my cup of tea.
I hate writing a review like this but I just cant help myself after listening to this drivel.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not Christine Feehan

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Not sure if it was that woman reading that enhanced the whiny tone of the female lead but it couldn't have been more like nails on a chalk board if she tried.

Could you see Dark Prince being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

absolutely not

Any additional comments?

As my title says, I am torn in regards to this book. The narrator was fantastic, probably the very best that I have heard so far. She kept me engaged, and she was fairly distinct in her voicing in spite of numerous male characters.

As far as the story goes, I am very interested in the mythology of the Carpathians, as well as the approach the author is using to present her ideas. I love the blend of modern with history, as well as the edge of fantasy.

In addition, I found most of the characters themselves enthralling, especially the Carpathian men. Because of these characters, I almost want to pick up another one of the authors books.

However, I am disappointed with the excess erotica. I don’t mind erotica, but I was much more invested in the actual story and felt that most of the time, it was just filler and not pertinent. I was able to deal with this by skipping forward a minute or two, though. So thank you Audible for that feature.

I was also frustrated by the flourishing of detail the author used, especially after the initial introductions. The author did not only flourish descriptions, though, but she also repeated phrases over and over again. Black magic, black velvet, coffee colored hair. I was rolling my eyes at a book!

What was truly the turn off for me with this book, though, was the main heroin, Raven. One moment she is strong and independent, the next moment she is whiny and unreasonable. I get that some of this had to do with character development and trials that she was going through. However, I found the character to just be annoying. I dreaded anytime she started to speak. She is lucky enough that I was invested in the other characters. Otherwise I would not have finished the book.

Only time will tell if I’ll pick up any of the other books and try again.
