Publisher's summary

In a plot ripped from today's headlines, America’s elite task force must take down a group of ruthless domestic terrorists determined to paralyze the country through extreme acts of violence in this action-packed new thriller in the best-selling Tom Clancy's Op-Center series.

They are known as the Black Order. Self-proclaimed patriots and survivalists, they refuse to surrender their values and beliefs to the left-leaning cultural and progressive forces threatening their nation. Military veterans and high-tech specialists, they’ve begun a savage war which includes public assassinations of politicians and celebrities and high-profile bombings, striking without warning or mercy. The Black Order wants nothing less than complete capitulation by the US government, giving them free rein to make their ideologies the law of the land.

Only Op-Center’s Black Wasp, a skilled team of military operatives answerable to the president, can defeat these militant revolutionaries. But even as Admiral Chase Williams and his agents force them on the run, the Black Order possesses a weapon of mass destruction that they will not hesitate to unleash against millions of innocent civilians.

Black order

As usual, Clancy's book have multiple characters that are part of the story independently, but don't tie into the very end chapters. In all excellent story and narration of a top long story.

decent ... not great

The story line is a good one. the performance was excellent. However some times the plot was a bit disappointing. This was worth the listen but not up to the Clancy level I normally expect.

Military Detail

Clancy either knows more or is able to fake knowledge of the government and particularly of the military. The detail of which he imparts with this book is amazing as he stretches your brain to remember all the characters and their positions in an always mysterious and entertaining manner.
A great read.

Not up to standard

The bad guys are mostly conservatives, the good guys mostly liberals. You can watch any cable news channel and get the same story. They did try occasionally to give a positive point of view of conservative side as conservatives were killing tons of innocent people. I’ve read many Clancy books and I don’t think he would be that proud of this one. The narrator was good but couldn’t save it.

Good Story

This was my first OP CENTER story and I found it compelling and intriguing. Being a Philadelphia native I enjoyed the accurate reference to places I knew. I would hope the other stories in the series are as well done both story wise and narration wise.
