Publisher's summary

Filled with action, emotion, and lyrical writing, New York Times best-selling author Adrienne Young returns with Namesake, the final audiobook in the captivating Fable duology.

Trader. Fighter. Survivor.

With the Marigold ship free of her father, Fable and its crew were set to start over. That freedom is short-lived when she becomes a pawn in a notorious thug’s scheme. In order to get to her intended destination she must help him to secure a partnership with Holland, a powerful gem trader who is more than she seems.

As Fable descends deeper into a world of betrayal and deception, she learns that the secrets her mother took to her grave are now putting the people Fable cares about in danger. If Fable is going to save them, then she must risk everything, including the boy she loves and the home she has finally found.

Excellent

Namesake is book 2 of the ‘Fable’ series to be read in order. This was an excellent conclusion to the 2-book series. The characters, the action, story, family and the sea were all perfect. Above all…Yes, a fantastic series CAN conclude in only 2 books!!!

This duology was fantastic!

I love this book! It was great! After the ending to Fable, I was very worried about what would happen to Fable! But nothing bad happened. She instead met her grandmother! I really enjoyed the ending to this book, when Saint claimed Fable as his daughter in front of that meeting. It was a wonderful moment.

Emma Lysy did a wonderful job performing this series. I thoroughly enjoyed her narration.

Solid sequel

The internet recommended the first of this series to me, Fable, and it was a very dynamic and exciting story which led me to read Namesake. The storyline itself was executed well, it wasn’t forced. There are exciting new plots revealed and the author did an excellent job with it. Why four stars? The main character Fable is so one dimensional in this story, completely static and annoyingly so. I loved this book for all the other characters who evolved and learned. Fable is clever but she flays others for the same mistakes she made the page before. Demanding promises and oaths of others while she just goes on to break them without a thought really. It’s really frustrating to watch her get mad or hurt by actions of another that she literally just did herself and somehow justified herself doing it but not others. And this goes on and on until the last chapter. She’s learned nothing except the revelations and growth of the other characters.
Still recommend the book! But the main character is lacking in that way.

Loved it!

Adrienne Young is a goddess. Her stories get better and better with each book she gives us!
Fable was great but Namesake was beautiful! It has more substance, subplots, drama, and romance than any of her books so far! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Great book

Loved this book!! It felt a little plotless at some times but I did adore it. Very good story. Would recommend 10/10 for anyone hanging out on the beach needing an adventure.

I ‘read’ the book in 3 nights

This was such a fun read. Really enjoyed it. Both books were pretty short. I only listened to it at night and it was hard to stop it. The kind of book where you’re disappointed when it ends.

Honestly one of my favorite books/ series I’ve ever read.

Incredibly well written and the plot was thoughtfully laid out. The story and the characters were so vivid and full. It was so nice that the books ended in such a sweet way, no annoying cliff hangers.

Salt, Sand, and Redemption

Adrienne Young has a beautiful writing style that made me forget I was listening to something “YA.” The tension and angst between West and Fable, but also with Saints arc in this novel was superb. I don’t know why I waited for so long to listen to this series. I guess the midnight called to me when it was the right time for me to hear the tale. Highly recommend and will be listening to the other two books set in the Narrows world.

fun listen

The characters grew and learned. I enjoyed that they were able to be strong but caring.
