Ben Bova and Orson Scott Card easily make the short list of top living science fiction and fantasy writers. Both authors have received wide praise from critics and Audible customers, whose endorsement speaks volumes on the importance of their works in such a competitive genre. But did you know that they are also good friends, and that Ben Bova helped launch Orson Scott Card's writing career?
The year was 1977, and aspiring writer Scott Card penned a short story called "Ender's Game", which he shopped around to various literary journals without success. Recognizing its merits, Ben Bova published the piece in Analog magazine, inaugurating a brilliant career that has since expanded to include many published novels, short stories, and poems.
Both authors are fans of literature in audio, so we thought it'd be a great idea to get them together for a chat with producer and narrator of their works, Stefan Rudnicki. Not only did they agree to the interview, they agreed to answer questions from fans at Audible. Check out the interview below, and continue browsing for more Bova and Scott Card you may have missed. Bova's latest, The Aftermath, has just been released. Stay tuned for new Scott Card coming in October.
