I enjoy listening to Laurel K. Hamilton's series on audiobook mainly because Kimberly Alexis is the voice I hear when I think of Anita. There are a few books I have listened to and wondered why that narrator was selected but there is no questioning the choice here.
All of the other books in the series. Anita is in a world all her own. I guess you could say if you want something similar you could listen to Kim Harrison's Rachael Morgan series. Strong lead character who turns out to be more than you ever thought she would be.
Can't say without spoilers.
If you are not prepared for a plea for acceptance from Mrs. Hamilton's open marriage then this may not be the book for you. It toed the line for me simply because I saw it for what it was and didn't like that she took a beloved character of mine and turned her into a launching pad. I love the escapism alloted by these novels.
She shouldn't have read the book herself. Her voice is unpleasant and grating.
Her voice. She had such a whiny childish tone and I couldn't listen to it for very long. Turned me off to the rest of the series.
No. I didn't like this one.
Yes! This is one of the best romance series I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Phil Gigante has a dreamy voice.
Without giving anything away... be careful what you wish for.
His voice! So sexy.
Be careful what you wish for.
Absolutely! However, this is not Mrs. Showalter's best work. This book was lacking in plot. It was sexy but I was looking for the depth of character I am so used to finding in her novels.
Had some semblance of a plot line.
I know it has a follow up, in fact, it has several. I am not as eager to pick them up as much as I have been about her other works.
A better story.
Something by an author I LOVE.
Her voice was amazing. Her delivery was exceptional.
Disappointment about covers it.
