A “fascinating psychological thriller” (Baltimore Sun), this entrancing novel introduces Isserley, a female driver who scouts the Scottish Highlands for male hitchhikers with big muscles. She herself is tiny—like a kid peering up over the steering wheel. Scarred and awkward, yet strangely erotic and threatening, Isserley listens to her passengers as they open up to her, revealing clues about who might miss them should they disappear—and then she strikes. What happens to her victims next is only part of a terrifying reality.

What disappointed you about Under the Skin?

I had expected something like the Crimson petal and the white. I was utterly disappointed.

Jane's love for Mr. Rochester is sorely tested when the mystery of the occupant of the attic is uncovered. Also included are two special features: an excerpt from "The Life of Charlotte Bronte" by Elizabeth Gaskell and "A Brief Visit to the Bronte Parsonage" by our narrator, Flo Gibson.

What would have made Jane Eyre better?

Narration was terrible! Couldn't get through three minutes of it!

How could the performance have been better?

Horrible. Quality bad. Narrator rounded like a Mupett!

Mild-mannered Walter Mitty is a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. This well-known and beloved tale has launched its famous protagonist into the cultural lexicon, warranting his inclusion in English-language dictionaries and countless anthologies. Stiller's imaginative performance as Mitty is the perfect re-introduction to the classic character and a great preface to the upcoming film, for longtime fans and new listeners alike.

Where does Free: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Right up there

Who was your favorite character and why?

There are really only two but I guess I could go out on a limb and put a vote in for the overshoes.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Wow, tough one. So many to choose from. I'd have to narrow it down to the first one . . . Or the last. No, definitely the last.

Who was the most memorable character of Free: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and why?

Again, going with the underdog: overshoes.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Deaf people? People who love to hear women abused, raped, beaten, sold into prostitution and murdered without reprocusion? Sadistic people? Ted Bundy?

Has The Valley of Amazement turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Yes

    Which scene was your favorite?

None! At least the narrator was good.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Valley of Amazement?

Everything about violet. End it with her mother leaving for the US.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.
