Jonathan Safran Foer's best-selling debut novel, Everything Is Illuminated, wowed critics on its way to winning several literary prizes, including Book of the Year honors from the Los Angeles Times. It has been published in 24 countries and will soon be a major motion picture. Foer's talent continues to shine in this sometimes hilarious and always heartfelt follow-up.

    Story
Is there anything you would change about this book?

I think the story itself is very complex. The narrators did a good job, however I gave it one star on performance because on part two the grandmother is speaking and in the middle of her conversation the boy jumps in with something way off topic, then back to the grandmother. It really bothered me so I found a paperback version of the book and from what I can gather it is not in the paperback version. I do believe this is an editing issue. If I am wrong then I am sorry but this distracted me from the actual story.

For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

What made the experience of listening to Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir) the most enjoyable?

The author narrated the story. You really got a good sense of who she is.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I would have to say Jenny, she is the main focus of the story.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

She is very funny and the way she tells her story is hilarious. I didn't like the fact she sung each chapter title. It was very annoying, also the first chapter is just babble. Once you get past that she is very funny.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not one particular moment, but just knowing that my family isn't the only strange one out there is a real comfort.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book to my friends.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, the book is well written. It has a great story line.

What did you like best about this story?

The character are very realistic and easy to relate to.

What does Jim Dale bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He puts a voice to each of the characters. When you read the book you don't get to experience the changes is expression in the characters voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book when ever I could. It took be about three days to listen to it start to finish. I loved it so much I listened to it again right after finishing it.

    Any additional comments?

    I highly recommend this book.
