This is a wonderful story that helps bring previously boring biblical characters to adventurous life. This book had me dusting off my Bible to check up on the validity of Lynn's biblical/historical accounts - I was able to verify the key events in her capitivating story. I learned a great deal of Biblical history and was blessed by her presentation of Godly truth. It is a delight having entertainment provide valuable education. A true treasure!!

In the India of the mid-1970s, Indira Gandhi's government has just come to power. It institutionalizes corruption and arbitrary force, most oppressive to the poorest and weakest people under its sway. Against this backdrop, in an unnamed city by the sea, four people struggle to survive. Dina, Maneck, and two tailors, the Untouchables Om and Ishvar, who are sewing in Dina's service, undergo a series of reversals.

    "A 5 - not because I would listen again"
    Overall

Kind of a Schindler's list. This book haunts me. I hope it is not really that bad anywhere. Maybe it is. Maybe I'm naive, probably. We really have a wonderful life here in the USA.

I gave it a 5 because of how it demanded my attention and has kept my thoughts for many months. It is truly a story to ponder.

Connect with the Lord; as an Audible customer, I am not the world’s greatest reader. I have always wanted to read the Bible, but it just didn’t happen….. until now. The Message is a real blessing. I keep at least one part on my player at all times. I can read/listen to a little of the Word any time I want……in modern ‘story’ format. A perfect format for me. ENJOY!!

Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top seller for the simple reason that it ignores trends and pop psychology for proven principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new forward and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant.

A River Runs Through It is a universal story of family love and a lyrical masterpiece, as beautiful as the great trout rivers of western Montana upon which it is set. Its beauty is especially evident through the "near-perfect match" of reader Ivan Doig and author Norman MacLean.

John says: "Lyrical - wonderfully done"
    "A Horrid Book"
    Overall

My middle school children were assigned this book and I decided to listen along. Boy am I glad I did. My children (12 & 14) are connoisseurs of excellent literature - "Mom, this is boring and stupid." We ceased the reading/listening mid way.

I/we were offended not only by the lame writing, but by the content. A very remedial "he said, she said” book with drunken characters wandering aimlessly through the book. This is NOT Montana and I hope you will reconsider before purchasing this waste of time.

Not my favorite, good for a few laughs and ended warm and fuzzy. I listened to this while in Mexico "Skipping Christmas" otherwise I may not have finished it. Something to do on the beach while drinking margaritas.
This did have a nice wrap up, but I felt I was wasting my time on a citcom book, but I guess that is why I was on the beach.

I don't watch much TV. If you like citcom TV you may really enjoy this one.

It not only entertained me with an uplifting love story, it furthered my knowledge of the difficult and painful Civil War times.
