The best American novel to emerge from World War I, A Farewell to Arms is the unforgettable story of an American ambulance driver on the Italian front and his passion for a beautiful English nurse.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definately recommend this book to a friend. It was gripping, moving, and sad.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Farewell to Arms?

When the two main characters escaped from Italy to Switzerland during a snow storm on a small boat over a lake.

Have you listened to any of John Slattery’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

We had not listen to any other John Slattery perfomances on book, although we watched his performance on TV, Madman, and we absolutely love him. What an excellent narrator!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely.

    Any additional comments?

Be prepared for a sad ending that sticks with you for a couple of days. John Slattery did such an excellent job narrating, my husband and I felt we had watched a movie.

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Transported from the mid-twentieth century to New York City in the year 1882, Si Morley walks the fashionable "Ladies' Mile" of Broadway, is enchanted by the jingling sleigh bells in Central Park, and solves a 20th-century mystery by discovering its 19th-century roots. Falling in love with a beautiful young woman, he ultimately finds himself forced to choose between his lives in the present and the past. A story that will remain in the listener's memory, Time and Again is a remarkable blending of the troubled present and a nostalgic past....

the author went into great detail to describe environments

What was one of the most memorable moments of Time and Again?

When the two main characters flet from the police

What about Paul Hecht’s performance did you like?

While he has a good radio voice, he was a bit boring because he did not attempt to change his voice, like some other narrators do, when the female spoke, or for that matter, another male character spoke.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Definately an coccasional chuckle.

Would you listen to The Tuesday Club Murders again? Why?

I absolutely would listen to the Tuesday Club Murders again for the same reason that I would watch a great movie again, to discover things that I may have missed the first time listening/viewing

What other book might you compare The Tuesday Club Murders to and why?

    I am new to this

Have you listened to any of Joan Hickson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to any other Joan Hickson performances, but I have seen her on TV playing Ms. Mapel and she is just as great an actress as she is a narrator

If you could rename The Tuesday Club Murders, what would you call it?

    Ms Maple recalls...
