His memory is blank. He only knows that he was flushed out of the Mediterranean Sea, his body riddled with bullets. There are a few clues. A frame of microfilm surgically implanted beneath the flesh of his hip. Evidence that plastic surgery has altered his face. Strange things that he says in his delirium -- maybe code words. Initials: "J.B." And a number on the film negative that leads to a Swiss bank account, a fortune of four million dollars, and, at last, a name: Jason Bourne.

What made the experience of listening to The Bourne Identity the most enjoyable?

This was such a good book I LOVED it! The Bourne movies are great and I was reluctant to purchase the books because I thought they would be redundant. Maybe a little more fleshed out but boy was I mistaken! The two stories bare some similarities but that's where it ends. This book it Action Packed from beginning to end. There are a lot of characters but I did not think it was difficult to keep up with them. I cannot wait to finish the remaining Ludlum/Bourne books. Not sure if I will listen to the post Ludlum but will probably at least try one.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Silly question! Jason Bourne I would hope.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

Scott Brick is one of my Favorite narrators. I would be happy listening to him read the phone book!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I think that's already been done.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book. If you've seen the movie don't look for it the book, forget everything you think you know about Jason Bourne or you will be disappointed. If you do decide to get this you are in for a Very Enjoyable listening experience. This is Robert Ludlum at his best. Certainly worth a credit.

Five US soldiers, tasked with guarding Iraqi prisoners, stand accused of committing depraved atrocities against their charges. Drummond is assigned to defend one of them: a hardscrabble young woman who is either incredibly naive or deceptively evil...and whose incriminating photos made the case an international scandal.

What made the experience of listening to The Night Crew the most enjoyable?

Brian Haig is such a talented author. His books are so indepth, multifaceted and detail oriented. His books may not always adhere to the comfort level of the masses but his subject plots are realistic and very believable.

What does Christopher Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought Christopher Lane did a fine job. I prefer Scott Brick for Mr. Haig's books but I thought this narrator did a good job.

    Any additional comments?

I have missed this author so much and periodically check his name to see if he has written anything new, always disappointed when there is nothing. This was such a total surprise and I am so glad I found it. I hope that he will be writing again with more frequency. This book touches on some very taboo subjects including incest, torture of prisoners (like what happened at Guantanamo) with some variations. There is also some unrequited love, deviant behavior and murder (and boy does the ending knock your socks off!!). This is one ending I did not see coming. If you have read/listened to any of the Drummond books in the past this one will certainly be a surprise. If you haven't listened to this series before this still makes a fantastic stand alone. Bravo Brian Haig! Can you PLEASE write another one soon?
Just a note: If you haven't read The Hunted you are really missing a well written extraordinary story that is based on a true story that is so bizarre it read like fiction. One of the best books I have ever read.

A young woman's body is found on a side street in Indianapolis, horrifyingly arranged. Meanwhile Frank Behr, who is down on his luck and virtually broke, takes on a no-win case to locate a single mother's wayward daughter who's been missing for months. Suddenly Behr feels the two cases may be connected, but he is years removed from his life as a legitimate police officer and has few friends left on the force. His relentless focus has always been his greatest strength...and his deepest flaw.

Where does Signature Kill rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

With 600+ books in my library this one would be in my top 100 and that's saying a lot.

What other book might you compare Signature Kill to and why?

If I didn't know better I would have thought I was listening to a Frank Quinn book by John Lutz who is one of my favorites.

    Any additional comments?

If you're a Lutz fan this is a book you will really like. Graphic at times but this is a story with a really good in depth plot. Both the antagonist and protagonist are multilayered with multiple subplots (but not so many that it gets confusing). I also like that you don't know who the killer is until the end. As his story unfolds it is reminiscent of many serial murderers that have been in past headlines and follows his path in life from childhood torture of animals and the adults who missed it but could have put a stop to his escalation into depravity as so often happens in real life. I will definitely go back and get the other three books in this series. I Highly RECOMMEND this book! This one is truly worthy of your credit. If you are anything like me you guard these closely, this one is worth it...

What about Braden Wright’s performance did you like?

Braden Wright does a fantastic job with the Jet books especially considering that the main protagonist in these books is a female. He does a very believable performance.

    Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed ALL of the Jet books. This one like the others is fast paced and full of action. My only gripe is that they are not long enough. Jet is like a cross between The Gray Man and Wonder Woman, this book we learn that she is certified to fly a helicopter and can perform some pretty amazing stunts with it even though it's been years and she was unsure of her skills. Ok, it requires a little suspension of common sense but it you're looking for some exciting and thrilling entertainment then you've come to the right place. I highly recommend this book.

What made the experience of listening to Shady Cross the most enjoyable?

This is a good fast paced book. Nonstop bad luck the whole way through.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes it certainly did! This book moves right along starting from probably the first 10 minutes or so and doesn't stop the whole way through.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Surprisingly I did! For most of the story I did not, I found some of it to be a little far fetched. How much and how many things can happen to one man in a day? This guy just went from one situation to another. Like I said, it was entertaining. Anyway back to the question. The final scene did give me such a melancholy feeling, I was so surprised! I love when a book has a great ending...

    Any additional comments?

If you're on the fence- get the book. It is a little different then the typical rainy day nothing to read, short on attention span book in that our hero isn't such a hero but a rather shady character himself and at times not too likable. He is shockingly redeemable giving it this memorable ending.

What other book might you compare Killer Within to and why?

If I didn't know better while listening to this I would swear this sounded like a Mary Higgins Clark book. Good, fast paced with no down time, slightly predictable but thrilling just the same.

Have you listened to any of Joyce Bean’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Joyce Bean did a very good job narrating this book. With her repertoire of voices the characters are easily distinguishable, including the male voices.

    Any additional comments?

You know who the killer is from the beginning but there are a few scenes and characters you know are making some really bad choices setting themselves up as the perfect victim. With trepidation they walk right into a trap. Some of them you really want to survive. The book does require some suspension of common sense as far as law enforcement procedurals go but this is fiction and is entertaining, definitely worth the price. I would recommend this and will probably read more by this author.

Life for private investigator Lizzy Gardner will never be the same. It's been three weeks since her fiancé Jared, was shot on what was supposed to be their wedding day. He's in a coma now, and Lizzy is being forced to make a decision she might not be able to live with. But a string of deaths has forced her to get back to work. While they appear to be unrelated accidents at first glance, a closer look shows they all have something in common.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. This is a pretty good easy book to listen to. Fast paced with multiple concurrent stories.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Almost Dead?

In the beginning of the book you find out what happened to Jarred (I won't spoil this) but it left me wondering throughout the book how it would conclude.

What about Kate Rudd’s performance did you like?

Kate Rudd has read all of the Lizzy Gardner books and for me anyway she is her voice. I think she did a fine job.

    Any additional comments?

I thought this was very good and suspenseful. I like that the pace was consistent through out the book. I think I liked the last book a little better but that might be because this one was a little sad at times. I think I can see where the author is going with the next story or possibly the one after and am curious to find out if I'm right. I think Lizzy is going to get involved with the detective she always seems to butt heads with but I guess I'll have to wait to find out. I also liked that Haley and Kitally's characters were developed even more and that they are developing their own story lines. Certainly worth the price! I recommend this one.

What made the experience of listening to Fatally Bound the most enjoyable?

This was just a very good book. Excellent story. Unlikable antagonist with a mission I think anyone can relate to if in the same situation (which I won't spoil). So even though I didn't like him I did find myself wanting him to complete his mission.

Have you listened to any of Johnny Peppers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The only other books I have listened to Johnny Peppers narrate are the other books in this series and I think he does a fine job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! But I couldn't so it took me two days.

    Any additional comments?

I REALLY enjoyed this book. What is nice about this series is that they can be listened to as stand alone books. I listened out of order and enough of the previous books are covered so that the listener doesn't feel like something is missing. I think of all this one was the best of the series. There is much more character development as compared to the others where there was a good story but not much personality given to the main characters. This book was fast paced, high tension with very little down time. The end is very satisfying and you feel like every now and then there is justice even if only in a book! I highly recommend this one.

This is the first time I've listened to Johnny Peppers. I thought he did a good job.

This was a totally unexpected surprise. It was on a list of books that I might like based on previous purchases. I usually ignore those because I rarely find anything I like with their suggestions. So this one turned out to be a real page turner. It has Feds gone bad, one is blackmailed by another who served prison time for stealing evidence and selling it. Others antaganists who feel the justice system has done them and their family wrong, and the there is the protagonist (Mac) and his team of Super Cops trying to save the lives of two kidnapped college students who have been buried alive, one who is a diabetic. You know the kidnappers have no intention of letting them go. Wow, this story is put together! Lots of clues along the way, it's a race right up to the last chapter. I really enjoyed this and Highly Recommend it.

What did you like best about this story?

This was just a really good story! The premise is one that I don't think I've come across before in this context. Secret research facility, kidnapped scientists, can't say anymore or I'll give too much away.

What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?

There was nothing about Dick Hill's performance not to like, he's one of the BEST (according to me).

    Any additional comments?

Chris Kuzneski has just released three books in the Payne & Jones series that are all FIVE STAR books. Each has a unique story line and can be read as part of the series or as stand alones. These are the best of the series. Really good complex multilayered plots, plenty of action and some background history between the two protagonists is filled in along with some of Payne's personal history. He learned that his father was responsible for some financial backing of medical breakthroughs and had known some very impressive/important people. Again I don't want to give names because I don't want to spoil this for anyone. I highly recommend all three, they are worth the credits!

Where does The Secret Crown rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have over 500 books in my Audible library so that would be a hard question BUT I would have to say this is defiantly in the top 1/3 of my favorites.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Oh yes. It begins with a phone call to Payne from an acquaintance saying that he believes a friend of his (Pieter Ulster) relative may have been a Nazi sympathizer. This is based on a few trunks containing valuables from that period with the Ulster family crest. Of course this turns out not to be the case but the race is on to find some missing treasure before someone else (a bad guy) does.

What does Dick Hill bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dick Hill brings his impressively talented voices. He is a favorite of mine and I could listen to him all day.

    Any additional comments?

This was such a good book. I thoroughly enjoy Chris Kuzneski's Payne & Jones series. If you like the Primal series or Jonathan Quinn and his bantering with Nate then you will enjoy this book. Kind of paramilitary, fast paced super hero stunts that are not always 100% within the legal parameters but completely exhilarating just the same. Anyway this book has a great ending that brings P. Ulster full circle with his families past. Super book, highly recommended!
