Gavin Guile is dying. He'd thought he had five years left - now he has less than one. With 50,0000 refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies. Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole 16 years ago.

What did you love best about The Blinding Knife?

I found the magic system inventive and fun

What other book might you compare The Blinding Knife to and why?

While I find the majority of Brandon Sandersons works to be better written, both authors have creative magic systems that very much reminded me of each other.

What three words best describe Simon Vance’s voice?

    like a surfer.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Thats not really my plan for any audiobook, but even in written form, this is not a book that would have had me burning through the pages. I do not however mean this to be disparaging.

    Any additional comments?

Sadly, I feel as though Simon Vance's voice acting was lacking. I often found myself thinking about the lack of diversity in his voice choices for different characters (Roy Dotrice has spoiled me.) I also could not help but feel like he sounds like a "surfer dude."
