First published in French in 1692, The Practice of the Presence of God is a classic for everyone who has a heart that is hungry for more of God - whose "soul thirsts for God, for the living God".

Amid his pots and pans, the author, Brother Lawrence, became so noted for his serenity and joy while he worked at the most menial kitchen tasks that cardinals and theologians came to see him to learn his secret. Even the pope of his day is said to have visited him.

I was a little skeptical at first about this purchase but my doubts were unfounded. I would truly love to recommend this book to everyone as a day to day reference book. Thank you Brother Lawrence

If only more people knew about the truths espoused in this book life would be less stressful. But unfortunately its easier to push people into buying more drugs to deal with certain issues that exercise can alleviate. Trust me read it. Its worth the money. I am a New York City school teacher and I know stress.

This is the story of how success happens. It is told through the lives of one composite American couple, Harold and Erica - how they grow, push forward, are pulled back, fail, and succeed. Distilling a vast array of information into these two vividly realized characters, Brooks illustrates a fundamental new understanding of human nature.

I expected more. I wasted my money which I have very little of. I saw the author on GPS and he had a hard time discussing the book. Fareed said it was a good book and i fell for it. I only gave it one star because I didn't know how not to give it zero
