Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

What did you like best about The Pillars of the Earth? What did you like least?

The story could have been better had it been compressed down. Book was way to long and not enough excitement to hold my interest.

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires.... From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside - so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat. No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

What disappointed you about Entwined With You?

The plot was very weak. It was all soft porn with no substance. Even the sex became repetitive and I ended up fast forwarding.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sylvia Day again?

    Probably not

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jill Redfield?

I think Jill did the best with what she was given; however, the male voice sounded a little goofy.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Entwined With You?

The sex became very repetitive. Which made it lose its intrigue.

Under the care of Belle, the master's illegitimate daughter, Lavinia becomes deeply bonded to her adopted family, though she is set apart from them by her white skin. Eventually, Lavinia is accepted into the world of the big house, where the master is absent and the mistress battles opium addiction.

Would you listen to The Kitchen House again? Why?

Yes! I loved kitchen house. The narration was appropriate and easy to follow and the story line was endearing and educational. I really fell in love with the characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Kitchen House?

Although the time period was very turbulent when it came to race relations. The love and acceptance between many of the characters was touching and the risks that the characters took to prove that love was heart warming.

Which character – as performed by Orlagh Cassidy and Bahni Turpin – was your favorite?

I really loved the lavinia, who was the main Irish born character. The voice chosen was very believable and I could truly see the story line in my head.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The end of the book made me cry. Although there were some things that were truly sad, there were good things that made me cry but only because I was touched so deeply.

    Any additional comments?

    Totally worth the time.!!
