Conceived during a fog-drenched car ride with nothing beyond the windshield but a horizon-less void, Larry Fessenden and Glenn McQuaid created the acclaimed Tales from Beyond the Pale, audio theater inspired by the vintage radio shows of Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles.

What would have made Tales from Beyond the Pale, Season One, Volume 1 better?

the stories are not that bad, however, right in the center of the action, comes a trailer for other titles you can purchase in the series?? really? how cheesy!! i would have probably bought all the titles if it hadn't been for this! very distracting!!!!!

What was most disappointing about Joe Maggio and Larry Fessenden ’s story?

the trailers for other titles to purchase!!!!!!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?

    the narrators were fine

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

the stories were good, narrators were fine, can't get past ads for other titles in the middle of a story

    Any additional comments?

    re-release without ads!!!!!

Six full-cast contemporary tales of terror from horror legends Hammer Films: terror underwater in a helicopter crash simulator in Stephen Gallagher's 'The Box'... a neighbourhood clean-up campaign stirs up an ancient evil in 'The Fixation' by Mark Morris... the hate-filled words of an internet troll come to life in 'Sticks and Stones' by Robin Ince... a broken-down St Petersburg lift holds unimaginable terrors in Christopher Fowler's 'The Devil in the Darkness'... bingo, knitting and murder in 1970s suburbia in 'Spanish Ladies' by Paul Magrs... and myths and mosters on a Greek party island in 'Don't Go There,' by Stephen Volk.

Would you try another book from the authors and/or the narrators?

no. the stories were terrible and the narrators were unprofessional

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

    never

How did the narrator detract from the book?

screaming one minute, whispering the next

What character would you cut from Hammer Chillers?

    all of them

    Any additional comments?

I am disgusted that Hammer would put their name on this collection of junk

John Waters is putting his life on the line. Armed with wit, a pencil-thin mustache, and a cardboard sign that reads "I’m Not Psycho", he hitchhikes across America from Baltimore to San Francisco, braving lonely roads and treacherous drivers. But who should we be more worried about, the delicate film director with genteel manners or the unsuspecting travelers transporting the Pope of Trash?
