This was a very different type of book for me to read, and it was a delight. I normally listen to my books when I'm traveling on the road for an hour or two, but I found myself listening to this as I drove around town. It's engaging, and the perspective and plot execution is novel. The narrator was spot on; kudos to him for imbuing our protagonist with humor, insight, puzzlement, and wonder. This is a tear-jerker, but in the nicest way possible. Do not let preconceived notions deter you from trying out this book!
