yes. for anyone who wishes to learn about the life of bolivar and his continuing impact in south america
well, i have been listening to a biography of george washington (much longer than this one).
both monumental historical figures. yet with entirely different legacies. bolivar failed as a politician and became a divisive figure. washington succeeded as both a leader in war and peace.
wonderful, balanced history of an incredible man.
most of the story reads like a trial transcript and the strategy of the protagonist criminal defense attorney. boring with a capital B. who cares? ridiculous, contrived plot. amazed how bad it was after reading the good reviews here
the reader was great. a joy to listen to.
the book should have be titled "i'm a great guy, a great lawyer, and here is the story of my successful defense strategy including all the minutia of the trial, my conferences with my client, witnesses, prosecutors, judge, my ex-wife secretary and other ex-wife prosecutor"
over half the book is trial testimony and the back and forth between the lawyers and the court. cut this out, and no book is left
all are cardboard characters with no depth. little or no action here, no drama nor surprises. a dud, and i respectfully dissent!
