Welcome to Wayward Pines, population 461. Nestled amid picture-perfect mountains, the idyllic town is a modern-day Eden - except for the electrified fence and razor wire, snipers scoping everything 24/7, and the relentless surveillance tracking each word and gesture. None of the residents know how they got here. They are told where to work, how to live, and who to marry. Some believe they are dead. Others think they're trapped in an unfathomable experiment. Everyone secretly dreams of leaving, but those who dare face a terrifying surprise.

Dead Fire picks up following an infected attack on Sarah Mansfield's fortified house, during which three people seek shelter with Zed Zane and his fellow survivors. In the confusion, however, Murphy is gunned down, and an unthinking, emotional Zed strikes out to enact revenge. Unfortunately, the shooting and commotion have only attracted more Whites. A diversion plan emerges to rid the horde of the Smart One trying to figure a way through the gates, and lead the other infected away from the compound.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The narration grew on me, it was terrible, but it pounded... me.... in....to....submission (Captain Kirk). The story just turned pure stupid; hurry think of some words to go here so I can sell this crap as the third part of a series.

What could Bobby Adair have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Stopped at #2.

What didn’t you like about Jason Damron’s performance?

um, everything, but let me explain. The story started so strong I was willing to put up with the over stated emphasis of EVERY WORD. As the story progressed I just gave in and listened to the terrible female, stereotypical ethnic, and just all around poor narration.

    Any additional comments?

Stop at four, your embarrassing yourself.

Survive the infection! Survive the infected. Book 1: A new flu strain has been spreading across Africa, Europe, and Asia. Disturbing news footage is flooding the cable news channels. People are worried and frightened.

Would you listen to Slow Burn: Box Set 1-3 again? Why?

If someone else narrates. EVERY statement is over stated, female voices are... not, ethnic voices are stereotypically degrading. All in all, great story line, really bad narration.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jason Damron’s performances?

    No thank you

Would you listen to Omega Days again? Why?

Yes, this is what a zombie story is all about. Fast paced, perfect character development, several story lines; each as good as the last and next and each a stand alone story.

What other book might you compare Omega Days to and why?

    Day by Day Series.

What does Richard Ferrone bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Outstanding all the way around.

Where does Mountain Man rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the top right next to Day by Day, Swan Song, Surviving Series and a couple more I did not think could be matched; they have been!

What did you like best about this story?

Narration, story flow, descriptive writing and outstanding pace. It did start out a little slow and the initial solo story line was dangerously close to making me speed up the narration, but then, it took off and did not slow down.

Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?

All, really great job on all.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Too many to mention; listen and you will know what I mean.

    Any additional comments?

Thank you for this great story, hurry with the next please.

The Superpox-99 virus has wiped out nearly the entire human race. Governments have collapsed. Cities have become graveyards filled with unspeakable horror. People have resorted to scavenging from the dead, or taking from the living. The entire industrialized world has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, decaying bodies, and feral animals.

What made the experience of listening to The Survivalist the most enjoyable?

Learning to not let solo opinions guide my decision to purchase a selection. The story is fantastic; the narration is not bad at all. I have listened to better, but this was not even close to the worst. I have returned several selections due to poor narration/production; this one will stay in my library!

GREAT story, great ideas and outstanding character development. Give it a chance, you will not be disappointed.
