I have been a member for over 11 years and this was the first book I could not finish. Maybe it is just me and old age but these supermen who soldier on with gunshot wounds, knife wounds and multiple broken bones is just too much. I have completed migrated over to the Scandinavia authors who are much more realistic and their plots are more complex and better constructed. The reader was very good and the descriptions about Switzerland seemed correct.
Super hero character and plot
The escape in the ole town of Geneva
I really did not get the point of this story. There was no beginning or end only a middle part.
I thought the overall story plot was good and detailed enough to make it interesting. But there are no real people here just super heroes. The characters have no depth. Too much detail about bullet velocities and not enough about the human beings. I don't like the narrator and can only tolerate him for a very good story. Sadly not the case this time.
This book provided a fascinating look at the human beings making decisions affecting all our lives. It is simply not possible to get this kind of in-depth thinking from newspapers or nightly news programs. After listening to this book I came away with a completely different understanding of the how and why of the war we are in. I can?t say the analysis is correct, but the perspective presented is not easily found elsewhere. If you want a better understanding of current events and the people making the decisions causing those events to happen I highly recommend this book.
