This book was great, it made me feel much better knowing that there are so many moms (or maybe all moms) that are so much like me in my struggles to be a good mom, keep a sense of self and juggle everything else life throws at us.
Caution: Do not listen to this while you're in the car with your kids ;)
There is nothing I dont like about this book, or the series. It took a little while to be able to keep track of all the different characters at first, but Martin makes most of them so unique and unforgettable that you end up thinking about them as if they are real people who are a part of your life.
I love Danny...I can tell she is going to go far...
I really liked the brief intro to each meditation, then guided meditation, then conclusive remarks about the meditation format.
I usually read more Buddhist type meditation books but I really found this to be an interesting and helpful departure from my regular meditation practice.
Men might think this book makes sense or sounds good, I checked it out at the insistence of my boyfriend, but i just could not take it seriously.
I downloaded this book because after ordering a bunch of books on amazon on fitness and crossfit this book was recommended to me. So I guess I was expecting it to be a book about learning how to condition your mind to be tuff, in the sense of pushing your self towards goals and through really hard work outs or even pain or injury. Instead it ended up being a book more broad in nature, focused more on everyday problems and a few life changing type events.
There was a section on "finding your mission" that I liked and also a section on "negative thoughts" that have stuck with me on almost a daily basis.
The narrator delivery is a bit...i dont know how to explain it...it seems to lack almost any emotion. Not as bad as a computerized voice...but sometimes it seemed close.
I listened to this book on my lunch hours while taking walks.
