Will Patton has the perfect subtle southern drawl for this book. One of the few books I have listened to where I was actually nervous for what was going to happen to the characters. There are no slow parts, or any unnecessary words. A perfect short novel.
It would be nice if Michael Pollan would narrate the rest of his books. Scott Brick's voice to me just doesn't suit Pollan's writing. I love his use of language, and also how he goes into detail about his research of every issue. A very interesting listen even if you have no desire to build anything of your own.
If you like King's other works you will like this. Ken Howard does a great job with the different characters. Very distinct voices for all of them. I was surprised to see he has not narrated much else. I particularly liked his voice for Dirty Dave and the other drunks. Very big stretch from reality, but the way King is so masterful at fleshing out his characterization is what draws me in.
